RESOLUTION NO. 58-19 REQUESTING 91TE IMMEDIATE EXT~NSION OF THE GB~NVILLE-RA~ING CHANNET, D-3 FROM DELHI ROAD NORTHERLY TO EDINGER STREET WHEREA~, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha is informed that a petition signed by several hundred citizens in the Santa Ana Gardens area, requesting the formulation of plans to alleviate and control flood waters in said area, was filed with the Board of Super- visors, after their experience with storm waters in 1952, and WHEREAS, the present terminus of the Greenville-Banning Cha~nel D-3 at Delhi Road does not solve the flood water hazard at Edinger Street west of Sullivan Street, and the flood control engin- eer has recommended this extension of said channel from Delhi Road to Edinger Street, and WHEREAS, the anticipated flow at Delhi Road, estimated by the Flood CoRtrol District, is 750 c.f.s., of which the largest percentage is channeled from the property north of Edinger Street, and the larger portion of the area which would be served by the extension of said channel to Edinger Street is in the unincorporated area of the County and should not be a responsibility of the City of Santa Aha to protect, and WHEREAS, the area through which said proposed extension would be constructed is presently undeveloped, and the construction could be made readily and economically, and said construction would make possible the beneficial use ~ d development of the property north of Edinger Street between Sulliv~ Street and the S~uta Ana River, which said area cannot now be developed because of storm water drain- age across the same, and WHEREAS, t~e extension of said channel would make it possible for the City of Santa Ana to solve local drainage problems existing in the vicinity of said channel location; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ~ESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa &ua hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to adopt the necessary Resolutions and take whatever
