OF <br />~~1L~.1{.1.1}0 FUR THEIR COiSTRTBUTION OF TIC COST OF IMPROVE- <br />PuENTS IN ASSESSI+IENT DISTRICT iVO. 197, AiJD r'[1RTHER CALLING <br />ATTEiITION THA'i TrIE PROPERTY I~70LVEll IS THE PROPERTY GIVEN <br />BY THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO THE STATE OF CALIFORiIA F'OR <br />T-rIE CUNSTRTJCTIOiJ OF THE iuATI01vAL GUAP,D ARMORY <br />1'UHEREAS, heretofore the State of California, Military Department, <br />requested of the City of Santa Ana the gift of an Armory site for the <br />constz~action of a California i~Iational Guard Armory, and ne;otiations <br />therefor continued for more than a year, resulting in the City of <br />Santa Ana making a dead of gift to the State of California of a <br />valuable property on the south side of Delhi Road in said City; and <br />WHEREAS, thereafter the State of California completed the con- <br />str^action of an Armory ~ on said site and has ever since, and does <br />now, maintain the same; and <br />WHEREAS, the street in ,the area in front of said Armory and <br />the streets in the area adjacent to the said Armory site had never <br />been completely improved with paving, curbs, gutter and sidewalks <br />and, at the request of property owners in the area Assessment District <br />197 was organized and proceedinr;s had whereunder street work in the <br />area was carried on and the streets improved to City standards, re- <br />sulting in an assessment in the sum of S51L}.41.Li.0 against the property <br />frontage owned by the State of California by reason of the dead of <br />gift as hereinabove set o~ . <br />idOVV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: By the City Council of the <br />City of San to Ana that the Iilitary Department of the State of <br />California is hereby urged to accept its frontage obligation for <br />the improvement of the property acquired and now owned by the State <br />of California. <br />IT IS FrURTrIER RESOLVED: That the attention of the State of <br />California is directed to the provisions of the Improvement Act of <br />1911 permitting such payments to be made by agencies of the State <br />of California. <br />
