16 443 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 59-41 EXPI~ESSING THE DESIRE OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA FOR IMPROVED <br />AIR FACILITIES AND CONNECTIONS WITH VARIOUS CITIES OF THE <br />UNITED STATES, AND URGING INCREASED USE OF THE LONG BEACH <br />MUNICIPAL AIRPORT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha is but a short dist~ce <br />from the Long Beach Municipal Airport, and traffic conditions between <br />said two points are favorable to short-time travel without excessive <br />driver fatigue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, other major airports in Los Angeles County lie <br />beyond the City of Los Angeles involving a trip through that City, <br />which is time consuming at any hour of the day; and <br /> <br /> Wit~HEAS, with adequate air schedules to and from the <br />Long Beach Municipal Airport passengers and freight inbound and out- <br />bound from Santa Aha, California could more easily and quickly ac- <br />complish the necessary surface travel between said two points than <br />is now necessary in going to or from either of the major airports <br />on the other side of the City of Los Angeles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the rapid growth of the entire County of Orange <br />makes it desirable to have more easily accessible airport facilities; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA: That it would be to the advantage <br />and best interest of said City to encourage and promote more fre- <br />quent airline service into and out of the Long Beach Municipal Air- <br />port for the use of the citizens of said City and the citizens of <br />the County of Orange, generally. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of February, <br /> <br />AT, ST: , <br /> CLERK OF TR~ COUNCIL <br /> <br /> <br />
