~RESOLUTION OF INTENTION <br /> <br />NO. 2132 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, <br />DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO ORDER THE INSTALLATION AND <br />CONSTRUCTION OF AN ORNAMENTAL LIGHTING SYSTEM, THE PAVING <br />AND OTHERWISE IMPROVING OF PORTIONS OF MARTHA LANE, <br />PACIFIC AVENUE AND BRISTOL STREET, DECLARING THE SAID WORK <br />AND IMPROVEMENT TO BE OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY <br />PUBLIC BENEFIT; DECLARING THE DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITED <br />THEREBY AND TO BE ASSESSED TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES <br />THEREOF; DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO <br />REPRESENT SAID COSTS AND EXPENSES AND FIXING THE TIME AND <br />PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT, <br />OR TO THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT TO BE ASSESSED, OR BOTH. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Aha, pursuant to the provisions of the <br />Improvement Act of 1911 and the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and amendments to said <br />acts, do resolve as fol~w~: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the public interest and convenience requires and it is the <br />intention of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha to order the construction of the <br />following work and improvement in said City, to-wit: <br /> <br /> That the portions of streets in the City of Santa Ana upon which work shall b, <br />done and improvements made as hereinafter set forth shall be upon and along those <br />open public streets commonly known as and called Martha Lane between the center line of <br />Bristol Street and the Westerly line of Pacific Avenue an~ Pacific Avenue between the <br />Northerly line of Washington Avenue and the Northerly line of Martha Lane and the <br />Westerly half of Bristol Street between lines drawn parallel to and distant S0 feet <br />Northerly and 50 feet Southerly respectively from the center line of Martha Lane. <br /> <br /> That the work to be done and improvements to be made upon and along the <br />hereinabove described portions of streets in accordance with the plans and specification~ <br />therefor on file in the office of the City Engineer shall be as follows: <br /> <br /> The furnishing, installation and construction of an ornamental lighting <br />system, together with the necessary appurtenances to said lighting system, including the <br />installation on Martha Lane of single lighting standards of the type and kind known as <br />The King 0rn~mental Standard, Design Drawing No. K0-107, complete, and the installation <br />on Bristol Street of single lighting standards of the type and kind known as The King <br />Ornamental Standard, Design Drawing No. K0-451, complete, with lighting units on said <br />ornamental lighting system known as Neolite No. 81-4 and No. 91-~ Lighting Units~ <br />respectively, with side,-rod supports, extra light glass-ware, and including concrete <br />foundations, anchor bolts, pot heads, wiring, lamps, globes, conduits, cables and other <br />necessary items to complete the lighting system, including the making of necessary <br />connections between standards and to the service point, as particularly indicated on <br />the plans and specifications; and the repairing and replacement of all paving, curbs~ <br />sidewalks, culverts, conduits, pipe llne, or sewer, or other improvements cut or damaged <br />during the construction. <br /> <br /> That Martha Lane, between the center line of Bristol Street and the Easterly <br />line of Pacific Avenue, excepting therefrom any portion of said street already improved <br />to the official system, be graded, and paved with asphaltic concrete pavement, except <br />those portions of the intersection of Bristol Street with Martha Lane indicated on the <br />plans to be paved, which shall be paved with Portland Cement Concrete Pavement, from <br />curb line to curb line~ except that at driveway locations the grading and paving shall <br />extend back of the curb line to the street side of the sidewalk, and the full width of <br />the driveway, all as particularly indicated on and in accordance with the plans and <br />specifications hereinafter mentioned. <br /> <br /> The excavation for and construction of Portland cement concrete curbs upon <br />and along the said Martha Lane from the westerly curb line of Bristol Street to the <br />Easterly line of Pacific Avenue, all as particularly indicated on and in accordance with <br />the plans and specifications hereinaNter mentioned. <br /> <br /> The excavation for and construction of Portland cement concrete sidewalks upon <br />and along Martha Lane, between the Westerly curb line of Bristol Street and the Easterly <br />line of Pacific Avenue, all as particularly indicated on and in accordance with the plan~ <br />and specifications hereinafter mentioned. <br /> <br /> The excavation for and construction of salt glazed vitrified clay pipe main <br />sewer, together with manholes and flush tank, and all other necessary appurtenances <br />thereto, upon and along Pacific Avenue from ~nd connecting with the existing sewer at th~ <br />northerly line of Washington Avenue to the center line of Martha Lane, and upon and along <br />Martha Lane from the center line of Pacific ~venue to the Flush tank location 1SS.~l <br />feet west of the westerly line of Bristol Street, all as particularly indicated on and <br />in accordance with the plans and specifications hereinafter mentioned. <br /> <br /> The wxcavation fo~ and construction of salt glazed ~itrified clay pipe house <br />connecting sewers upon and along the last described portion of Martha Lane from and <br />connecting with the main sewer to be installed to points one foot back of the curb line~ <br />together with all eighth bends, disc seals, and other necessary appurtenances thereto, <br />laid at such elevations and grades as are particularly indicated on and in accordance <br />with the plans and specifications hereinafter mentioned. <br /> <br /> ~he excavation for and construction of cast iron pipe water main, including <br /> <br />· valves, valve boxes, fire hydrants and all other necessary appurtenances thereto, upon <br /> and along Martha Lane from the westerly line of Bristol Street to a line drawn parallel <br /> <br /> <br />
