RESOLUTION NO. ~138 RESOLUTION CALLING ELECTION ON ANNEXATION OF "GLORIETTA ADDITION" WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did on the 28th day of ~ctober, 1929, a petition asking new territory hereinafter receive written that certain described be annexed to~ incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana ~ms found hhat said written petition w~e signed by not less than one-fourth in number of the qualified electors residing in said territory as sho~,m by the Registration of voters of Orange County, California. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby resolves as follows: 1. A special election is hereby called and ordered to be held in the territory hereinafter described, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in said tercitory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Aha. A notice sh~ll be given of said election by the publication of a notice thereof in the "Orange Daily News",. a daily ~ewspaper~~ of general circulation printed and published outside of said City of Santa Ana, but in the County of Orange, State of California, in which said territory is situated, at least once a week for four (4) successive weeks next preceding the date of said election; said notice to be in words and figures substantially as follows: NOTICE OF SPECI:iL ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That a special election will be held in the territory hereinafter described, designated as the "Glorietta AdditiOn"~ on Thursday, the 5th day of December, 1929, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the said City of Santa Ana. The territory so proposed to be annexed is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of of Main Street with the center ~ine of Delhi Road, said point being a point on the Boundary line of the City of Santa Ana, California; thence Easterly along said boundary line and along the center line of Delhi Road to an inter- section with the Northerly extended Easterly line of Emmett's Addition as per map thereof on fi~e in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 8, Page 13, Records of Orange County, California; thence Southerly along the Northerly extended Easterly line and along the Easterly .line of said Emmett's Addition to an intersection with the Northerly line of the Pacific Electric Eailway Company's right-of-way; thence Southerly in a direct line to the Northeast- erly corner of Emmett~s Addition No. 3, as per map thereof on file in Miscellaneous ~aps, Book 8, Page 55, Records of Orange County, California; thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Emmett~s Addition No. 3~ and along the Southerly extension of said line to an intersection with the center line of Dyer Road; thence Westerly along the center line of Dyer Road to an intersection with the center line of Main Street; thence Northerly along the center line of Main Street to the point of beginning." The electors of said territory are hereby directed to vote upon said question in the hereinafter set forth. 2. The City Council does hereby establish for the purpose of holding said special election one election precinct, the boundaries of which shall be the boundaries of said territory~ ahd the place at which the polls will be open for said election in said territory so proposed to be annexed will be at the Delhi School House. The City Council hereby appoints the officers to conduct said special election as follows: Judges: Frank Billa and Mrs. Emma L. Coy Inspector:Mrs. Gladys Jessee All of said officers being qualified electors of said pr~=2~ct and said territory. 291
