RESOLUTION NO. 2144 RESOLUTION CALLING ELECTION ON ANNEL1TION OF "WEST ORANGE ROAD ADDITION". WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa i~a did on the 12th day of November, 1929 receive a written petition asking that certain new territory hereinafter described be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ana; and WH~EREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha has found that said written petition was signed by not less than one-fourth in nttmber of the qualified electors residing in said territory as shown by the Registration ef voters of Orange County, California. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Aaa hereby resolves as follows: 1. A special election is hereby called and ordered to be held in the territory hereinafter described, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be a~nexed to incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ans. A notice shall be given of said election by the publication of a notice thereof in the "Orange Daily News", a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and published outside of said City of Santa Aha, but in the Cotu~ty of Orange, State of California, in which said territory is situated, at least once next preceding the date of said election; substantially as follows: a week for four (4) successive weeks sai~ notice to be in words and figures "NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION" "NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That a special election will be held in the territGry hereinafter described, designated as the '[West Orange Road Addition", on Tuesday, the 17th day of December, 1929~ for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the said City of Santa Ana. The territory so proposed to be annexed is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of the ~esterly line of ~ain Street with the Northerly boundary line of the City of Santa Aha, California; thence Northerly along the ~esterly line of ~ain Street to an intersection with a line drawn parallel to and distant lO0 feet Northerly from the Southerly line of that certain parcel of land conveyed by Alfred ~. Chapman to Thomas ~. Shaffer by deed recorded in Deed Book 29, Page G0~ Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence ~esterly in a straight line to a point in the Northeasterly boundary line of the said City of Santa Ana~ said point being distant 1S0 feet Northerly, measured at right angles from the Northerly line of that certain parcel of land conveyed to Nichael Witt by deed recorded in Book 10, Page ~90 of Deeds, Records of Orange County, California; thence Southeasterly along said Northeasterly boundary line of the said City of Santa A~aa to an angle point in said boundary line; thence Easterly along said boundary line of the said City of Santa Ana to the point of beginning." The electors of said territory are hereby directed to vote upon said question in the manner hereinafter set forth. The City Council does hereby establish for the purpose of holding said special ele=tion one e!e~tion precinct, the boundaries of which shall be the boundaries of said territory, and the place at which the polls will be open for said election in said territory so proposed to be annexed will be at Residence of 0. V. Dar$. The City Council hereby appoints the officers to conduct sa~d special election as follows:
