RESOLUTION NO. 2C80 RESOLUTION CALLING ELECTION ON AI~EXATION OF "NORTH FLOV~'ER ADDITIONt' ~HEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did on the 18th day of March, 1929, receive a written petition asking that certain new territory hereinafter described be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ana; and ~M{EREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has found that said written petition was signed by not less than one-fourth in mtmber of the qualified electors residing in said territory, as shown by the Registration of voters of Orange Comity, California; NOW, TtIE[~EFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby resolves as follows: 1. A special election is hereby called and ordered to be held in the territory hereinafter described, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing'in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ana. A notice shall be given or-said election by the.,publication of a notice thereof in The Anaheim Bulletin, a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed and published out- side of said City of Santa Ana, but in the County of Orange, State of Californ~, in which said territory is situated, at least once a week for four (4) successive weeks next preceding the date of said election; said notice to be in words and figures substantially as follows: NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION NOTICE IS ~REBY GIVEN: That a special election will be held in the territory hereinafter described designated as the "North Flower Addition", on Thursday, the 18th day of April, 1929, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in said territory the $~estion whether said territory shall be annexe~ to, incorporated in and made a part of said City of Santa Ana. The territory to proposed to be annexed is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at a point in the Northerly Boundary line of the City of Santa Ana, said point being distant 150 f~et %Vesterly from the Westerly line of Flower Street; thence Northerly and parallel to Flower Street to an intersection with the Southwesterly right-of- way line of the Southern Pacific Raj%road Company; thence northwest- erly along said Southwesterly right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company to an intersection with the Westerly extended Northerly line of Chapman Avenue as it exists Easterly from the said Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way; thence Easterly along the said Westerly extended Northerly line of Chapman Avenue and along the Northerly line of Chapman Avenue to an inter- section with a line drawn parallel to and distant 1VO feet, measured at right angles, Northeasterly from the Northeasterly Right-of-way line of the said Southern Pacific Railroad Company; thence Southeasterly along said line drawn parallel to and distant lVO feet, measured at right angles, Northeawterly from the North- easterly right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company to an intersection with the said Northerly boundary line ~ the Dity of santa Ana; thence ~esterly alQng said Northerly boundary line of said City to thepolnt of beginning. The electors of said territory are hereby directed to vote upon said question in the manner hereinafter set forth. The City Council does hereby establish for the purple of holing said special election one election precinct, the boundaries of which shall be the boundaries of said territory, and the place at which the polls will be open for said election in said territory so proposed to be annexed will be at J. A. Smiley~s residence, ~800 North Flower Street.
