<br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
<br /> DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO ORDER THE CLOSING UP AND
<br /> ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF THE ALLEY THROUGH BLOCK A, OF
<br /> HAWKINS ADDITION AS PER MAP THEREOF ON FILE IN BOOK 13,
<br /> PAGE 26, MISCELLANEOUS RECORDS OF LOS ANGELES COLE~TY,
<br /> CALIFORNIA; DECLARING IT TO B~ FOR THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND
<br /> CONVENIENCE; AND FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
<br /> O'~JECTIONS TO S~ID PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT.
<br />
<br />The City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, pursuant to the
<br />
<br />provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California known as "Stree
<br />Opening Act of 1889", approved March 6, 1889, and amendments thereto, do resolve
<br />
<br />and declare as follows:
<br />
<br />Section 1. i~at the public interest and convenience requires the
<br />
<br />closing up and abandonment of a portion of that certain alley as hereinafter
<br />described in the City of Santa Aha, and it is the intention of the City Council
<br />
<br />of the City of Santa Ana to order the following pc~tion of that certain alley in
<br />
<br />said City to be closed up and abandoned, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> A portion of the alley through Block A, of Hawkins Addition as
<br />per map thereof on file in Book 13, Page 26, Miscellaneous Records of
<br />Los Angeles County, California, and more particularly described as
<br />follows:
<br />
<br /> Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of Lot 26, Block A of said
<br />Hawkins Addition; thence Northerly along the Easterly lines of Lots
<br />26, 23, 22, 19 and 18 to a point distant thirty-five (35) feet Northerly
<br />from the Southeasterly corner of said Lot 18; thence Easterly and
<br />parallel to the Northerly line of Stafford Street to an intersection
<br />with the Uesterly line of Lot lV, Block A of said Hawkins Addition;
<br />thence Southerly along the ~esterly lines of Lots 17, 20, 21, 24 and
<br />28 to theSouthwesterly corner of said Lot 25; thence Westerly to the
<br />point of beginning.

<br />All of which is more clearly shown on a certain map approved and adopted by the
<br />
<br />City Council of the City of Santa Ana for the said abandonment by Resolution
<br />No. 2(B8 on the 6th day of May, 1929.
<br />
<br />Section II. That the said City Council of the City of Santa Ana d~ s

<br />further declare that the lot, land or premises affected by the closing up and
<br />abandonment of the hereinbefore described portion of said alley and benefited by
<br />said improvement are those certain parcels of real property described as follows:
<br />
<br /> Lots Seventeen (1V) to ',~wenty-six (26) inclusive, of Hawkins
<br /> Addition, as per map thereof on file in Book 13, Page 26, Miscellaneous
<br /> Records of Los Angeles County, California.
<br />
<br /> Section III. i~at the proceedings for the closing up of the aforesaid
<br />
<br />portion of said alley shall be had and taken under and in accordance with an Act
<br />of the Legislature of the State of California, designated and known as "An A~t to
<br />Provide for Laying Out, Opening, Extending, Widening, Straightening or Closing up
<br />in ~ole or in Part of any Street, Square, Lane, Alley, Court or Place within
<br />Municipalities, to Condemn and Acquire any and all Land and Property Necessar~ or
<br />Convenient for tha~ Purpose", approved March 6, 1889, and amendments thereto.
<br />
<br /> Section IV. The Street Superintendent shall cause to be conspicuously
<br />posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement, at not more than
<br />three hundred (300) feet in distance apart, but not less than three in all,
<br />notices of the passage of this Resolution, in the form and manner as required by
<br />law; and he shall also cause a notice similar in substance for a period of ten
<br />(lC) days to be published in the Santa ^ns Daily Evening Register, a daily news-
<br />paper published and circulated and of general circulation in the City of Santa
<br />Aha, California, and hereby designated for that purpose by the City Council,
