RESOLUTION NO. 209V RESOLUTION C~LLING ELECTION ON ANNEXATION OF "WEST CttAPM~N ADDITION". WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ama did on the ~rd day of June, 1929 receive a written petition asking that certain new territory hereinafter described be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ama has found that said written petition was signed by not less than one-fourth in number of the qual£fied electors residing in said territory as shown by the Registration of voters of Orange County, California. NO~'4 THE!~EFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa ~na hereby resolves as follows: 1. A special election is hereby called and ordered to be held in the territory hereinafter described, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ana. ~ notice shall be given of said election by the publication of a notice thereof in the "Orange Daily News", a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and published outside of said City of Santa Ana,. but in the County of Orange, State of California, in which said territory is situated, at least once a week for four (4) successive weeks next preceding the date of said election; said notice to be in wOrds and figures substantially as follows: "NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION" · NOTICETS HEREBY GIVEN: That a special election will be held in the territory hereinafter described designated as the "West Chapman Addition", o~ ~uesday,'the 9th day of July, 1929, for the purpose of ~ubmitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the said City of Santa Ans. The territory so proposed to be annexed is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of a line drawn parallel to and distant 170 feet Northeasterly from the Northeasterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way with a line drawn parallel to and distant 30 feet Southerly from the center line of Chapman Avenue as it exists Easterly from the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way said point of beginning being also a point on the Boundary line of the City of Santa Ana, California; thence Easterly along said line drawn parallel to and distant 30 feet Southerly from the center line of said Chapman Avenue to an intersection with a line drawn parallel t~ and distant 1S feet Westerly from the Easterly line of Lot V of the Lockhart Tract as per map thereof on file in Book 4, Page Sl3, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence Southerly along said line drawn parallel to and distant lO feet Westerly from the Easterly line of Lot 7 of said Lockhart Tract to an intersection with the Northerly line of lands conveyed to Lillian E. Feldner by deed recorded in Book 643, Page 90, Records of Orange County, California, said line being also a portion of the Northerly boundary line of the City of Orange, California; thence Westerly along said last described line to the Northwesterly corner of said Lillian E. Feldner's land; thence South 4° 30' West 21V.78 feet to the Southwesterly corner of said lands; thence South §o 02' East, 237.60 feet to a point; thence North 89o 32' West 68.00 feet to a point; thence South 2° 22' East 42V.68 feet to a point; thence South 18° 03' West to an intersection with a line drawn parallel to and distant 170 feet Northeasterly from the Northeasterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way, said line being also a portion of the Boundary line of the City of Santa Ana, California; thence Northwesterly along said last described line to the point of beginning. The electors of said territory are hereby directed to vote upon said question in the manner hereinafter set forth. 2.
