RESOLUTION NO. 2099 RESOLUTION CALLING ELECTION ON ANNEXATION OF "DELHI ADDITION". WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did on the 3rd day of June, 1929 receive a ~itten petition asking that certain new territory hereinafter described be annexed to,~ incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa .~ua; and ~HEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha has found that said written petition was signed by not less than one-fourth in number of the qualified electors residing in said territory as shown by the Registration of voters of Orange County, California. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa ~hua hereby resolves as follows: 1. A special election is hereby called and ordered to be held in the territory hereinafter described, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa .ina. A notice shall be given of said election by the publication of a notice thereof in the "Orange Daily News", a daily newspaper of general circulstion printed and published outside of said City of Santa Ana, but in the County of Orange, state of California, in ~ich said territory is situated, at least once a week for four (4) successive weeks next preceding the date of said election; said notice to be in words and figures substantially as follows: "NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION". NOTICE IS I~REBY GIVEN: That a special election will be held in the territory hereinafter described, designated as the "Delhi Addition", on Tuesday, the 9th day of July, 1929, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the said City of Santa Ana. The territory so proposed to be annexed is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the Northwesterly corner of Tract No. 284 as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 14, Pages i and 2, Records of Orange County, said point of beginning being a point in the center line of Main Street and also an angle point in the boundmry line of the City of Santa Aha, California; thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said Tract No. 284, said Northerly line being also the City Boundary Line, to the Northeasterly corner of said Tract; thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Tract No. ~84 to the Southeasterly corner thereof, which is also the Northeasterly corner of Tract No. 6~8 as recorded in Hiscellaneous Maps, Book 19, Page 17, Records of Orange County, California; thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Tract No. 638 and along the Southerly extension thereof to an intersection with a line drawn parallel to and distant thirty (30) feet Southerly from the Northerly line of Delhi Road; thence ~',¥esterly alOng said line drawn parallel to and distant thirty (30) feet Southerly from the Northerly line of Delhi Road to an intersection with the center l°ne of Main Street; thence Northerly along the center line of Main Street to the point of beginning. The electors of said territory are hereby directed to vo~e upon said question in the manner hereinafter set forth. 2. The City Council does hereby establish for the purpose of 'holding said special election one election precinct, the boun~Earies of which shall be the boundaries of said territory, and the place at which the polls will be open for said election in said territory so proposed to be annexed will be at the Delhi School Building. The City Council hereby appoints the officers to con~ct said special election as follows: and Harriet E. Baer Judges: Mrs. Effie G. Lvard Inspector: Mathew ~. McKinley All of said officers being qualified electors of said precinct and said territory.
