RESOLUTION NO. 2058 <br /> <br />problems, <br />is hereby <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, California cities, towns and sanitary districts are being ~aced with <br />problems of disposing of their sewage and industrial wastes under peculiar seasonal <br />and climatic conditions which complicate the problems or make them unique, thus <br />rendering inapplicable or of doubtful value methods and standards developed elsewhere, <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these pressing problems are of vital concern to all communities, <br />large and small, and their separate investigations would involve, in some cases, <br />prohibitive expense and in many cases wasteful dnplication of money and effort, and <br /> <br /> ~HE~EAS, the State is the logical agency to undertake the solution of common <br /> particularly those affecting the health of its citizens, now, therefore, it <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Santa Ana that the action of the <br />League of California Municipalities, at its last meeting, requesting the appropriation <br />by the State of not less than $65,000.00 for the establisbnnent and maintenance <br />during the next biennium of the proper and necessary facilities for investigations and <br />research in methods of sewage and wastes~disposal and treatment, be and the same is <br />hereby endorsed and approved and this Council does hereby respectfully urge the <br />legislature of the State of California to adopt suit'able legislation to accomplish <br />these purposes: <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, FURT~_~R, that the members of the legislature from the district in <br />which this city is situated, are hereby requested to lend special effort to the further- <br />ance of the purposes herein expressed and the adoption of the necessary legislation <br />to accomplish the same. <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to <br /> transmit certified copies of this resolution to the Honorable C. C. Young, Governor <br /> of the State of California; to <br /> <br /> Hon. N. T. Edwards of the Senate <br /> Hon. Edward Craig of the Assembly <br /> <br /> our representatives at the legislature, and to the League of California Municipalities <br /> at 706 Chancery Building, San Francisco, California. <br /> <br /> I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly intro- <br /> duced and adopted by the Cotuucil of the City of Santa Ana at a regular meeting thereof <br /> held on the seventh day of January, 1929, by the following vote, to-wit: <br /> <br />AYES, Cguncilmen: <br /> <br />NOES, Councilmen: <br /> <br />ABS~.~NT, Councilmen: <br /> <br />J.L.McBride, W.J.Kelly, Homer C. <br />Stanley E.
