<br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'.[~Z OF SANTA ANA,
<br /> CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO ORDER THE INSTALL-
<br /> ATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF AN ORNAMENTAL LIGHTING SYSTEM ON
<br /> PORTIONS OF THIRD STREET, BIRCH STREET AND FOURTH STREET,
<br /> DECLARING THE SAID WORK TO BE OF MOEiE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY
<br /> PUBLIC BENEFIT; DECL~tRING THE DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITED BY
<br /> SAID WORK AND IMPROVEMENT AND TO BE ASSENSED TO PAY THE COSTS
<br /> AND EXP~SES THEREOF; DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED
<br /> TO REPRESENT SAID COSTS AND EXPENSES; AND FIXING THE TI~E AND
<br /> PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT, OR
<br /> TO THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT TO BE ASSESSED, OR BOTH:

<br /> TH~ City Council of the City of Santa Ana, pursuant to the provisions of the
<br /> Improvement Act of 1911, and the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and amendments to ssid
<br /> acts, do resolve as follows:

<br /> Section 1. That the public interest and convenience requires, and it is the
<br /> intention of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, to order the con-
<br /> struction of the following described work and improvement in said City, to-wit:

<br /> The furnishing, installation and construction of an ornamental lighting
<br />system on Third Street, betwe.~n the Westerly line of Broadway and the Easterly line of
<br />Ross Street, and Birch Street, between the Northerly line of Third Street and the South-
<br />erly line of Fourth Street, and the Southerly one-half of Fourth Street, between the
<br />center line of Birch Street and a line drawn parallel to and distant twenty (20) feet
<br />Easterly from the Easterly line of Birch Stre~t, together with the necessary appurtenanc.
<br />to said lighting system, including the installation of cast iron double lighting
<br />standards of a type and kind known as the King Ornamental Standard, design drawing No.
<br />K 0 ltl, as made by the King Manufacturing Company, complete, including all cca crete
<br />foundations, anchor bolts, pot heads, wiring, lamps, globes, canopies, conduits, cables
<br />and other necessary items to complete the lighting system, and the making of all
<br />necessary connections between standards and to the existing circuits, as indicated on
<br />the plans; and the repairing of any paving, curb, sidewalk, culvert, conduit, pi~ line
<br />*r ~ewer cut or damaged during the construction of the lighting system, which work
<br />shall be considered as incidental to said iv~provement, and no additional compensation
<br />will be allowed therefor. The lighting ~its shall be General Electric Company form
<br />No. 12 Ornamental Novalux Units as made by the General Electric Company, both standards
<br />and lighting units shall conform in design and dimensions to those shown on the plans
<br />and specifications hereinafter mentioned.

<br /> That for the installation of the hereinbefore described lighting system a
<br />patented article will be used and a license agreement between the patent o~er, ~estern
<br />~ighting Company, selling agents for King Company and General Electric Company, and the
<br />City of Santa Ana, permitting the use of a patented article is now on file in the office
<br />of the City Clerk, to which said agreement reference is hereby made, and the same is mad~
<br />a part of this resolution of intention by reference, the same as though set forth in
<br />full herein.

<br /> PLANS~ PROFILES~ CROSS-SeCTIOnS AND SPECIFICATIONS
<br />
<br /> Section 2. All of the hereinbefore described streets, together with the fore-
<br />going work and improvements are fully set forth, delineated and described on the plans,
<br />profiles, cross-sections and detailed drawings known as "THE PLANS FOR ASSESS~ENT
<br />DISTRICT NO. 174", and as set forth in the specifications known as "THE SPECIFICATIONS
<br />FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 174, which plans and specifications are on file in the
<br />office of the City Clerk, and were adopted by Resolution No. 2059 on the 21st day of
