RESOLUTION NO. 59-17~ AUTHORIZII~ EXECUTION OF FBRk-~AY AGREEMENT FOR I~GE OF S~¥ AND GARDEN GBOVE FRRW. WA_Y, NO. VII-0RA-19/174/179,- SA WHEREAS, the State of California has submitted to the City of Santa Aha a Freeway Agreement which the City approves in general, but regarding which the City has two suggestions and requests to be presented for consideration by the State of California; N0~;, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of Santa Ana, California hereby requests that, since the Freeway Agreement herein referred to provides for the closing of the off ramp for north-bound traffic on the Sauta Aha Freew~ to Flower Street, every effort be made to improve, correct and enlarge the condition presently exist- ing at the North Main Street offramp; it clearly appearing that said offramp is presently inadequate to handle any additional treffic load; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That heavy traffic flow occurs in and around Fashion Square operated by Bullock,s, Inc., and said traffic now has access to a public street connecting directly into La Veta Avenue, which greatly assists present traffic movement, md will become increasingly vital as volume of traffic increases, and the attached Agreement provides for the elimination of this access directly to the North, which will greatly and increasingly overload vehicular traffic on North Main Street, md will create an undesirable condition for motorists and for the City; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That for the reasons next he re inabove stated, the City of Santa Ana petitions and requests that the State of California construct an overpass at the point of the present northern access from Fashion Square; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That subject to the conditions here- inabove pointed out and the petitions and requests hereinabove made, the City approves the Freeway Agreement designated, VII-Ora-19/174/ 179-SA, and authorizes its Mayor audClerk of the Council to execute the same.
