<br />A RESOLUTION 0P THE CITY C0~CIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />S~NTA ~A, DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO ORDER
<br />THE CLOSING UP AND ABANDONMENT OF A CERTAIN ALLEY
<br />THROUGH BLOCK B OF FRENCHtS ADDITION TO SANTA ANA;
<br />DECLf~ING IT TO BE FOR THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND
<br />CONVENIENCE; AND FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR
<br />HEARinG OBJECTIONS TO SAID PROPOS~]) I~PROVE~ENT.
<br />
<br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Aha, pursuant to the provisions
<br />of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, known as "Street Opening
<br />Act of 1889", approved March 6, 1889, and amendments thereto, do resolve a~d
<br />declare as follows:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That the public interest and convenience requires the
<br />closing up and abandonment of that. certain alley as hereinafter described in the
<br />City of Santa Aha, and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
<br />S~ata Aha to order the following alley ia said City to be closed up and abandoned
<br />to-wit:
<br />
<br /> All that certain alle~f through Block B, of French~s Addition
<br />to Santa Ana, as per ~ap thereof on file in Book ~, Page ~l~
<br />Niscellaneous Recordsof Los Angeles County, California, and more
<br />particularly described as follows:
<br />
<br /> Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of Lot l, Block B, of
<br />said French's Addition; thence Westerly along the Southerly lines
<br />of Lots i to ~ inclusive of said Block B to the Southwesterly
<br />corner of said Lot ~; thence Southerly in a straight line to the
<br />Northwesterly corner of Lot 8 of said Block B; thence Easterly
<br />along the Northerly lines of Lots 8 to l~ inclusive of said Block
<br />B to the Northeasterly corner of said Lot l~; thence Northerly in
<br />a straight line to the point of beginning.

<br />All of which is more clearly shovm on a certain map approved and adopted by the
<br />City Council of the City of Santa Ana for said abando~uent by Resolution No. ~168
<br />on the 1Vth day of February, 1930.
<br />
<br /> Section S. That the said City Council of the said City of Santa Ana
<br />does further declare that the lots, lands or prm~ses affected by the closing up
<br />and abandonment of the hereinbefore described alley snd benefited by said improve-
<br />ment are those certain parcels of real property described as follows:
<br />
<br /> Lots One (1) to fourteen (l~) inclusive in Block ~B! of
<br /> French's Addition to Santa Aha, as per map thereof on file.in
<br /> Book ~, Page ~l, ~,~iscellaneous Records of Los Angeles Co~ty,
<br /> California.
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the proceedings for the closing uo of the aforesaid
<br />alley shall be had and taken ~under and mn accordance w~th an Act of the Legmslatu~
<br />of the State of California, designated and known as "An Act to Provide for Laying
<br />Out, Opening,~xtend~ng, ~ ' '~".~den~ng,' ~ Straightening or Closing up in ~ole or in Part
<br />of any Street, Square, Lane, Alley, Court or Place within Municipalities, to
<br />Condemn and Acquire any and all Land and Property Necessary or Convenient for th~
<br />Purpose", approved ~arch 0, 1889, and amendments thereto.
<br />
<br /> Section 4. The Street Superintendent shall cause to be conspicuously
<br />posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement and at not more
<br />than ~00 feet in distance apart, but not less than three in all, notices of the
<br />passage of this Resolution, in the form and manner as required by law; and he
<br />shall also cause a notzce similar in substance, for a period of ten (10) days to
<br />be published in the Santa Ana Daily Evening Register~ a daily newspaper published
<br />and circulated and of general circulation in the City of Santa Ana~ California,
<br />and hereby designated for that purpose by the City Council, containing a statement
<br />of the fact of the passage of this Resolution of Intention, the date thereof,
<br />and briefly describing the work or improvement oroposed and referring to this
<br />Resolution for further particulars. -
<br />
<br /> Section 5. That any person interested objecting to said work or i~orove
<br />ment, or to the extent of the district or lands to be affected or benefited by
<br />said work and improvement, and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses there~
<br />may make written objections to the same,~vmth~n' ' ten (10) days after the expiratio~
<br />of the time of the publication of said notices, which obJect_ons~ shall be deliver
<br />to the Clerk of the City Co~uucil of the City of Santa Ana.
