RESOLUTIO,'~ NO. 2353 <br /> <br />A RESOLII2ION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0P <br />SANTA ANA, DECLARING THEIR INTENTION OF CLOSING <br />UP AND ABANDONMENT OF OLIVE STREET AS IT EXISTS <br />BET~ffEEN EIGHTH STRE~ET AND A LINE PAR~TLLEL TO AND <br />DISTANT ~ CHAINS SOUTHERLY FR0~.~ THE CENTER LINE <br />THEREOF; DECL~RING IT TO BE FOR THE PUBLIC INTEREST <br />AND CONVENIENCE, AND FIXING THE TI~,IE AND PLACE FOR <br />HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID PROPOSED IMPROVE~.{!!~T. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Aha, pursuant to the provisions <br /> of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, kno~wn as "Street Opening <br /> Act of 1889", approved March 6, 1889, and amendments thereto, resolves and <br /> declares as follows: <br /> <br /> Section l: That the public interest and convenience respires the closin <br /> up and abandonment of that certain street in the City of Santa Ana az hereinafter <br /> described, and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Santa <br /> to order the following street in said City to be closed up and abandoned, to-wit: <br /> <br /> The Easterly ~0 feet of Olive Street as it exists between <br /> Eighth Street and a line parallel to and distant ~ chains <br /> Southerly from the Center line thereof, as described in deed <br /> by Bertha Sackman recorded in Book 227, Page 300, of Deeds, <br /> Records of Orange County, California, said portion of Olive <br /> Street being the Easterly 20 feet of that portion of Olive <br /> Street conveyed by John William Sac]~an and Gertrude E. <br /> Sackman by deed, recorded in Book 449, Page [98 of Official <br /> Records, Record~ of Orange CountE, California. <br /> <br /> All of which is more clearly shown on a certain map approved and adopted by the <br /> City Council of the City of Santa Ana for said abandonment by Resolution No. 2352 <br /> on the 20th day of ~arch, 1933. <br /> <br /> Section 2: That the said City Council of the said City of Santa Aha doe <br /> further declare that the lots, lands or premises affected by the closing up and <br /> abandonment of the hereinbefore described street and benefited by said improvement <br /> are those certain parcels of real property described as follows: <br /> <br /> The Easterly 20 feet of Olive Street as it exists between <br /> Eighth Street and a line parallel to and distant 5 chains <br /> Southerly from the center line thereof, as described in deed <br /> by Bertha Sackman, recorded in Book ~2~, Page 300, of Deeds, <br /> Records of Orange County, California, said portion of Olive <br /> Street being the Easterly 20 feet of that portion of Olive <br /> Street conveyed by John William Sackman and Gertrude E. <br /> Sackman by deed, recorded in Book 449, Page 198 of Official <br /> Records, Records of Orange County, California. <br /> <br /> Section 3: That the proceedings for the closing up of the aforesaid <br />street shall be had and taken under and in accordance with an Act of the Legislatur. <br />of the State of California, designated and known as "An Act to Provide for Laying <br />Out, Opening, Extending, Widening, Straightening or Closing up in ?~ole or in Part <br />of Any S~reet, Square, Lane, Alley, Court or Place within ~nicipalities, to <br />condemn and Acquire any and all Land and Pro~ rty Necessary or Convenient for that <br />Purpose", approved ~arch 8, 1889, and amendments thereto. <br /> <br /> Section 4: The Street Superintendent shall cause to be conspicuously <br />posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvement and at not more th~ <br />300 feet in distance apart, but not less than three in all, notices of the passage <br />of this Resolution, in the form and manner as required by law; and he shall also <br />cause a notice similar in substance, for a period of ten (10) days, to be pub- <br />lished in the "Santa Ana Daily Evening Register", a daily newspaper published and <br />circulated and of ~eneral circulation in the City of Santa ~tua, California, and <br />hereby designated for that purpose by the City Council, containing a statement of <br /> <br /> <br />
