RESOLUTION NO. 2385 <br /> <br /> THAT WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council of th® <br /> City of Santa Aha that the SERA is about to undertake a direct relief program in the <br /> County of Orange, including the City of Santa An$; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is the sense of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha <br />that a works program instead of a direct relief ~ogram is most essential to relieve <br />unemployment in the County of Orange, State of California, and the City of Santa Aha: <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a works program instead of a direct <br />relief program is essential ae a means of dealing with unemployment problems in the <br />State of California; that the extent, financing and character of the works program <br />should be similar to the CWA when that organization was in full operation; and that <br />the amount available for materials ehould be sufficient to permit economically sound <br />and socially desirable projects to be undertaken. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that projects uncompleted under the CWA and for which <br />materials have been purchased or for which purchase orders have been issued prior to <br />April l, should be carried on in all parts of the State of California by the SERA <br />without restrictions, and the materials be granted to the operators of the projects. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY C~RTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly passed <br />by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, at a regular adjourned meeting thereof, <br />held on the 30th day of April, 1934. <br /> <br />AYES, TRUSTEES: <br />NOES, TRUSTEES: <br />ABSENT, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />A.
