RESOLUTION NO. 2581 <br /> <br /> THAT, WHEREAS, on March tenth, 1933, the City of Santa Aha was in the <br />pathway of a severe earthquake disturbance with great destruction of property and <br />confusion resulting therefrom, and <br /> <br /> The situation immediately following the earthquake demanded men of <br />experience and ability to supervise the distribution of funds made available for <br />reconstruction work, therefore, a Special Advisory Committee of the Unified <br />Rehabilitation Corporation was appointed by the President of the United States; <br />and <br /> <br /> Under the guidance of this Special Advisory Committee regulating the <br />distribution of the available funds, all buildings affected by said earthquake <br />within the City of Santa Aha have now been reconstructed and rehabilitated and a <br />great improvement in the appearance of the business district of the City of Santa <br />Ama has been made possible ~ahe~eby, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Special Advisory Committee in charge of the distribution of <br />earthquake relief funds is now in the process of dissolution, and the records <br />covering the disbursements of said funds show that upon the first interest date <br />payments have been made in full, which shows the efficient manner in which said <br />relief funds were disbursed; <br /> <br /> NOW, TEE~EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Aha, acting for the citizens of said city, recognize and commend the ability <br />of the Special Advisory Committee of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation and <br />express the sincere appreciation of our City to the ind2vidual members who so <br />unselfishly and patriotically served the people of this community, without <br />renumeration, thereby rendering an invaluable service to our citizens. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to <br />Mr. H. S. MacKay, Jr., as Chairman of the Special Advisory Co~mittee of the <br />Reconstruction Finance Corporation. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly <br />passed by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, at a meeting thereof, held on <br />the 12th day of March, 1934, by the following vote, to-wit: <br /> <br />AYES, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />NOES, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />ABSENT, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />A.F.LeGaye, E.G.Warner, W.H.Penn, A.C.HasenJaeger, <br />Paul B.
