RESOLUTION NO,.,, 2409 <br /> <br />That out of the economic stringency existing at this time, a real <br />problem in the matter of unemployment of the citizens of this City has developed; <br /> <br /> That the Federal Government, co-operating with the states and the <br />municipalities thereof, has inaugurated a project known as the "SERA", designed <br />for the purpose of providing work for the unemployed; <br /> <br /> That the differant municipalities of the different states, in order to <br />take advantage of labor under the Federal SERA, are required to propose projects <br />for development within the respective municipalities and that while the labor of <br />such projects is furnishe.d by the Federal SERA, the material required therein <br />and certain supervision thereof are required to 0e furnished by the municipalities <br /> <br /> That the City of Santa Ana recently proposed a project looking to the <br />development of Santiago Creek so as to prevent damage resulting from flood and <br />overflowing of surplus waters, which damage would result to properties within the <br />City limits of the City of Santa Aha; <br /> <br />That included within said project is the following tract of land, <br />situated in the County of Orange, State of California, more particularly described <br /> <br />as follows, to-wit: <br /> Block "B" <br /> Lot Fifteen (15)~Tract No. 315, as shown on a map thereof <br /> recorded in Book 14, Page 49 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records <br /> of Orange County, California; subject to delinquent taxes. <br /> <br /> That the real property hereinaOove described is necessary and required <br />as a municipal improvement in the matter of flood protection; <br /> <br /> That the now record owner of said property proposes to sell to the City <br />of Santa Ana the real property hereinaOove described for the total price of ONE <br />HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($125.00); that said property is worth the sum of <br />$125.00, or more. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Santa Ana purchase from <br />J. B. RAMSAY, the record owner, the real prope~tyyhereinaoove described, as and <br />for the sum of $125.00; that the Mayor of said City and the City Clerk 0e <br />authorized to execute all necessary papers for the acquiring of said property, <br />and that said Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute an <br />escrow agreement with the Reliance Title Company of Santa Aha, Orange County, <br />California, covering the purchase of said property, said property to oe free and <br />clear of all encumbrances, except delinquent taxes, and the record owner to have <br />a policy of title insurance issued to the said City of Santa Aha covering the <br />real property hereinabove described, said Policy of Title Insurance to be made at <br />the expense of the City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution w~s duly and regularly <br />passed by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, at a regular adjourned meet- <br />ing thereof, held on the 28th day of January, <br /> <br />AYES, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />NOES, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />ABSENT, TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />Fred C.
