RESOLUTIO~ NO. RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING T~ COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCREASE THE ALLOCATION OF FIRST STREET TO INCLUDE THE APPROACH RAMP FOR THE FIRST STREET BRIDGE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM. WHEREAS. the City of Santa Ana desires to make additional improvements on First Street fr~m four hundred eighty ($80) feet East of Santa Ana River to Santa Aha River, and WHEREAS, First Street is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest~ and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1959-1960 a s~m of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires $o construct a new approach ramp to the First Street Bridge at Santa Aha River in conjunction with proposed First Street improvements from Townsend Street to West City Limits. WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha and County of Orange have entered into an administrative agreement to improve First Street from Townsend Street to West City Limits, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Ama hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to -~locate to said City from County Funds an additional amount of $18.000.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improve- ment of First Street from Santa Ana River to 480 feet_+ East of Santa Aha River, and for the acquisition of necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project statement; BE IT FURTHER F~ESOL~ED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work amd acquisition of rights of way on First Street. in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Aha agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1959~60.
