SECTION 6: NOTICE OF EXAMINATIONS
<br /> Notice of time, place and general scope of every examination shall be posted by the Civil
<br />conspicuous place, in its office, at the City Hall; at the office of the Chief of the Fire Departm
<br />Police Department, not less than two weeks prior to such e~r*mination.

<br /> SECTION 7: SELECTION AND PROMOTION
<br /> The Civil Service Board shall .formulate rules and regulations governing the selection and p:
<br /> bets of the Fire Department and Pohce Department. All officers and members of the Fire Depa!
<br /> Department shall belong to the Classified Service and shall be appointed and promoted from thc
<br /> the position to be filled. '
<br /> All authorized and needed officers or members shall be recommended to be cho~n or pro~
<br /> of the Fire Department or the Police Departnmt as the cuse may be, from the three (3) highest standi
<br /> the eligible list furnished by the Givil Service Board.

<br /> SECTION 8: CREATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A TRIAL BOARD
<br /> There is hereby created, for the purpose of hearing and determining charges made again

<br /> SECTION 9: POLITICAL OPINIONS OR RELIGIOUS BELIEF NOT TO BE CONSID
<br /> No person in the Cl~sslfied Service or seeking admission thereto shall be appointed, prom~
<br />discharged or in any way favored or discriminated against because of political opinions or affilia
<br />of religious belief.
<br /> No person holding an office or place in any department placed under a merit system or ci
<br />pursuant to the provisions of thin ardinunce or of Chapter 48 of the Statutes of 1935, of the State of
<br />seek or accept election, nomination or appointment as an officer of apoliticai club or organization, ol
<br />part in any County or Municipal political campaign, or serve as a member of a committee of such club
<br />or circle, or s~ek signatures to any petition provided for by any law, or act as a worker at the poi
<br />badges or pamphlets, dodgers or handbills of any kind favoring or opposing any candidate for electi,
<br />nation to a public office, whether county or municipal; provided, however, that nothing in this ordLua~

<br />organization, or from attendance at a political meeting, or from enjoying entire freedom from ali inte~
<br />ing his vote or from seeking or accepting election or appointment to guhlic office.

<br /> SECTION 10: PROBATION PERIOD
<br /> Appointments or promotions to employment or rank shall be deemed temporary until a perio

<br />porarily appointed or promoted. Successive temporary appointments shall not be allowed. In event o

<br /> The Chief of any department in Classified Service may file charges of misconduct, iusuheedins :ion or ineffi.
