<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />SANTA ANA, DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO ORDER
<br />THE CLOSING UP AND ABANDON~ENT OF WILLITS STREET
<br />BETWEEN THE WESTERLY LINE OF RAITT STREET ~ND THE
<br />WESTERLY LINE OF PLAZA RANCHO, HERETOFORE DY~ICATED
<br />FOR STREET PURPOSES TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA;
<br />DECLARING IT TO BE FOR THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND
<br />CONVENIENCE, AND FIXING THE TI~ AND PIACE FOR
<br />HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID PROPOSED I~PROVE~.~NT.
<br />
<br /> The City CoUncil of the City of Santa Ana, pursuant to the provisions
<br />of an Act of the Legislature of the State of Calm~ornma, known as "Street
<br />Opening Act of 1889", approved ~,~arch 8, 1S89, and amendments thereto, do resolve
<br />and declare as follows:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That the public interest and ccnvenience requires the
<br />closing up and abandonment of Willtts Street between the westerly line of
<br />
<br />Raitt Street and the westerly line of Plaza Rancho, dedicated for street purposes
<br />as hereinafter described, in the City of Santa Ana, California, and it is the
<br />intention of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana to order that portion of
<br />Willit.s Street to be closed up and abandoned as follows, to-wit:

<br /> Wtllits Street between the Westerly line of Raitt
<br /> Street and the Westerly line of Plaza Rancho, as
<br /> shown on the map of Plaza Rancho recorded in
<br /> ~iscel~aneous Record ~gaps, Book ~, Page 1Z~
<br />
<br />all of which is more clearly shown on a certain map approved and adopted by the
<br />City Council of the City of Santa Ana for said abandonment, by Resolution No.
<br />~78 on the 1st day of August, 19~8.
<br />
<br /> Section ~. That the said City Council of the City of Santa Ana does
<br />further declare that the lets, lands or premises affected by the closing up and
<br />abandonment of the hereinbefore described portion of Willits Street, and
<br />benefited by said ~provement are Lots Nine (9), Ten (10), Eleven (ll) and Twelve
<br />(1~) of Plaza Rancho, as shown on ~iscellaneous Record ~aps, Book ~, Page 1Z.
<br />
<br /> Section ~. That the proceedings for the closing up of the aforesaid
<br />portion of Willits Street shall be had and taken under and in accordance with
<br />an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated and known as
<br />"An Act to provide for laying out, epening, extending, widening, straightening,
<br />or closing up, in whole or in part, of any street, square, lane, alley, court or
<br />place within municipalities~ to condemn and acquire any and all land and property
<br />necessary and convenient for that purpose", approved ~arch 8, 1889, and amendment~
<br />thereto.
<br />
<br /> SectiOn ~. The Street Superintendeat shall cause to be conspicuously
<br />posted along the line of said contemplated work and i~provement, at not more than
<br />three hundred (~00) feet in distance apart, but not less than three in all,
<br />notices of the passage of this Resolution, in the form and manner as required by
<br />law; he shall also cause a notice similar in substance, for a period of ten (10)
<br />days, to be published in the Orange County Reporter, a daily newspaper published
<br />and circulated and of general circulation in the City of Santa Aaa, California,
<br />and hereby designated for that purpose by the City Council, containing a
<br />statement of the fact of the passage of this Resolution of Intention, the date
<br />thereof, and briefly describing the work or improvement proposed, and referring
<br />to this Resolution for further particulars.
