RESOLUTION NO. 2707 Resolution Authorizing and Directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the improvement of p~rti.6ns of Edinger Street in the City of Santa Aha, California, and fixing prevailing wage rate. Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in tho~ certain plans and specifications adopted this 25th day of September, 1939, by this City Council for the improvement of portions of Edinger Street in the City of Santa Aha, which said advertisement shall be substantially in the following words and figures, to-wit: NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS In pursuance of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, Orange County, California, adopted directing this notice, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the said Board of Trustees will receive at the office of the Cit Clerk in the City Hall of the City of Santa Aha, on or before the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., October 16th, 1939, sealed bids or proposals for the improve- ment of EDINGER STREET. Bids must be made on a form provided for the purpose addressed to the Board of Trustees, Santa Aha, California, marked "Bid for Edinger Street Culverts" Notice is hereby given bidders that under the provisions of Chapter 397, Statutes of 1931, the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha has ascertained the prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract which will be awarded the successful bidder, to be as follows: SKILLED AND INTFLRM~DIATE GRADE LABOR Classification Rate Per Hour Air Compressor Operator $ 1.125 Blacksmith 1.00 Carpenter 1.10 Cement Finisher 1.25 Concrete mixer operator (except paving type) 1.125 Concrete worker .75 Crane operator 1.25 Floatman .75 Headerboard Mau .75 Mechanic (trouble shooter) 1.O0 Oiler (power shovels or cranes) .82 Power shovel operator or other excavating equipment shovel type controls (3/4 cubic yard or more) 1.375 Reinforcing steel worker 1.25 Spraygun operator (concrete curing) .75 Tractor driver (50 h.p. and over) 1.O0 Tractor driver (under 50 h.p.) .75 Truc$ driver (less than 6 tons) .75 Truck driver (6 tons or over) .875 Transit mix operator 1.O0 UNSKILLED LABOR Laborer 0.625 Teamster 0.625 Handyman (roustabout) 0.625 Watchman 0.625 Guard 0.625 Flagman 0.625 The minimum wage paid to all skilled labor, shown above, shall be not less than $1.00 per hour. for which rates are not The mininum wage paid to all intermediate labor, for which rates are not shown above, shall be not less than 75~ per hour. The mlnimumwage paid to all unskilled labor, for which rates are not shown above, shall be not less than 62~ per hour. Overtime one and one-half (ih) times the above rates. Sundays and the following legal holidays, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, ArmistiCe Day, Thanksgi¥ing Day, Christmas Day (e~cept watchmen, guards and fla~men) one and one-half (l~) times the above rates . The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a working day of eight (8) hours, and in the event that laborers, workmen or mechanics are employed less than eight (8) hours per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of employment bears to eight (8).
