RESOLUTION NO. 2707 <br /> <br />Resolution Authorizing and Directing the <br />City Clerk to advertise for bids for the <br />improvement of p~rti.6ns of Edinger Street <br />in the City of Santa Aha, California, and <br />fixing prevailing wage rate. <br /> <br />Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha: <br /> <br /> That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as <br />required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the <br />work specified in tho~ certain plans and specifications adopted this 25th day of <br />September, 1939, by this City Council for the improvement of portions of Edinger <br />Street in the City of Santa Aha, which said advertisement shall be substantially <br />in the following words and figures, to-wit: <br /> <br />NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS <br /> <br /> In pursuance of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of <br />Santa Ana, Orange County, California, adopted directing this notice, NOTICE IS <br />HEREBY GIVEN that the said Board of Trustees will receive at the office of the Cit <br />Clerk in the City Hall of the City of Santa Aha, on or before the hour of <br />7:30 o'clock P.M., October 16th, 1939, sealed bids or proposals for the improve- <br />ment of EDINGER STREET. <br /> <br /> Bids must be made on a form provided for the purpose addressed to the <br />Board of Trustees, Santa Aha, California, marked "Bid for Edinger Street Culverts" <br /> <br /> Notice is hereby given bidders that under the provisions of Chapter 397, <br />Statutes of 1931, the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha has ascertained <br />the prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft or type of workman or <br />mechanic needed to execute the contract which will be awarded the successful <br />bidder, to be as follows: <br /> <br />SKILLED AND INTFLRM~DIATE GRADE LABOR <br /> <br />Classification <br /> <br /> Rate <br />Per Hour <br /> <br />Air Compressor Operator $ 1.125 <br />Blacksmith 1.00 <br />Carpenter 1.10 <br />Cement Finisher 1.25 <br />Concrete mixer operator (except paving type) 1.125 <br />Concrete worker .75 <br />Crane operator 1.25 <br />Floatman .75 <br />Headerboard Mau .75 <br />Mechanic (trouble shooter) 1.O0 <br />Oiler (power shovels or cranes) .82 <br />Power shovel operator or other excavating equipment shovel <br /> type controls (3/4 cubic yard or more) 1.375 <br />Reinforcing steel worker 1.25 <br />Spraygun operator (concrete curing) .75 <br />Tractor driver (50 h.p. and over) 1.O0 <br />Tractor driver (under 50 h.p.) .75 <br />Truc$ driver (less than 6 tons) .75 <br />Truck driver (6 tons or over) .875 <br />Transit mix operator 1.O0 <br /> <br />UNSKILLED LABOR <br /> <br />Laborer 0.625 <br />Teamster 0.625 <br />Handyman (roustabout) 0.625 <br />Watchman 0.625 <br />Guard 0.625 <br />Flagman 0.625 <br /> <br /> The minimum wage paid to all skilled labor, <br />shown above, shall be not less than $1.00 per hour. <br /> <br />for which rates are not <br /> <br /> The mininum wage paid to all intermediate labor, for which rates are <br />not shown above, shall be not less than 75~ per hour. <br /> <br /> The mlnimumwage paid to all unskilled labor, for which rates are not <br />shown above, shall be not less than 62~ per hour. <br /> <br />Overtime one and one-half (ih) times the above rates. <br /> <br /> Sundays and the following legal holidays, New Year's Day, Memorial <br />Day, July 4th, Labor Day, ArmistiCe Day, Thanksgi¥ing Day, Christmas Day (e~cept <br />watchmen, guards and fla~men) one and one-half (l~) times the above rates <br /> . <br /> <br /> The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a working day <br />of eight (8) hours, and in the event that laborers, workmen or mechanics are <br />employed less than eight (8) hours per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be <br />deemed to be that fraction of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of <br />employment bears to eight (8). <br /> <br /> <br />
