RESOLUTION NO. 264V <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF CO~ENDATION TO RETIRING <br /> OFFICEP, S OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on the 10th day of April, 1939, a general Municipal election was <br />held in said City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain public officials of the City of Santa Ana who have served <br />this City during the last four years, have retired from pUblic service as a result of <br />their failure to seek reelection or be reelected to their respective offices, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this City Council has 5uring the past four years had and received <br />fUll and hearty cooperation from the said retiring officials in all matters wherein <br />this City Council has been Involved, and <br /> <br /> WR~EREAS, the loss of the service of said City officials is a severe loss <br />to the City of Santa <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha; <br />That this City Council does hereby express to the following named officials <br />who have served this City faithfully and well during the last four years, their <br />felicitations and best wishes for success in any new undertaking, and further express <br />their regret that the pleasurable associations and official relationships heretofore <br />maintained between such officials and this City Council must of necessity be severed; <br /> <br /> That the officials whose term~ of office have <br />City Councilman: Ernest H. Layton, City Councilman; Hon. <br />and Floyd ~. Howard, Chief of Police. <br /> <br />expired ar~: William H. Penn, <br />J. G. Mitchell, City Judge; <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLYED that a cooy of this Resolution be spread upon the <br />minutes of this meeting, and that suitable certified copies thereof be furnished to <br />each of said retiring public officials. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the unanimous vote of the City Council, with the <br />members of the Council whose n mnes are herein mentioned, net voting, at the regular <br />meeting of said City Council held the 17th day of Apri%, 1939. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> E.
