RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE A~i'~J~L HIGHWAY <br />FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF <br />EDINGER STREET. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha desires to improve Edinger Street f~r~o?~ <br /> Ri_ ve_r to_ _ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Edinger Street is an i~portant artery in the County of Orange <br />and of general County interest, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and <br />Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned <br />to it cst of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the <br />improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action provide <br />in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement l~And for the Fiscal Year <br />1960-61 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated <br />cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway <br />Financing Program. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFOHE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to <br />said City from County Funds the amount of $66,500.00, said amount to be matched <br />by funds from said City, to be u~ed to aid said City in the i~provement of <br />Edinger Street from Santa Aha River to Canter Street, and for the acquisition of <br />necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to <br />be in accordance with the attached project statement; <br /> <br /> ~ IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange <br />is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of way on <br />Edinger Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Ana agrees <br />with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Progress and further <br />agrees that its share of the cost of improvememts and rights of way will be <br />available for the fiscal year 1960-61. <br /> <br /> <br />
