¸47 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3174 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WITH REGRET THE <br /> RESIGNATION OF CHIEF OF POLICE, <br /> EARL B. I_J~- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Earl B Lentz has served the City of Santa Ana faithfully and <br />well as Chief of Police since his election to that office by the people of Santa <br />Ana in April, 1935, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the present health of Earl B. Lentz is such that he is advimed <br />by his physician that continued performance of his duties as Chief of Police will <br />be detrimental, if not dangerous, to his health and well-being, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Earl B. Lentz has resolved such advice and has seen fit to <br />tender to this Council his resignation as such Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED NY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANX <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> That the resignation of Earl B. Lentz as Chief of Police of the City of <br />Santa Aha be accepted, but that in accepting such resignation this Council expresa <br />the feeling of the individual members thereof as well as that of the people of thi: <br />city that such acceptance is given with regret at the loss of a valuable servant <br />of the city and its people and the City Council does extend to Chief of Police <br />Lentz its best ~ishes for a speedy recovery from his physical afflictions and <br />express the hope that he wil~ soon be able to again resume an active life and that <br />his future may be prosperous and happy. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the <br />minutes of this meeting and that a certified copy thereof be furnished to Chief <br />Earl B. Lentz. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting held on the 21st day of December <br /> <br />1942, <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Erma Keeler <br /> City Clerk. <br /> <br />Joseph P.
