RESOLUTION NO. 3115 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION URGING CONSF~RVATION OF <br /> AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT. <br /> <br />WHEP~EAS, motor vehicle transportation is of the utmost importance <br />in the economic and business life of this state and a necessary factor in the <br /> <br />production of materials essential to the conduct of war by this nation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, severe limitations have been imposed upon the sale of new <br />automotive equipment, including tires and tubes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a program of automobile and tire conservation will assure <br />a maximum of use of existing automotive equipment; <br /> <br /> .NOW, <br />be approved: <br /> <br />THEREFORE, it is hereby recommended that. the following program <br /> <br />Universal observance of the maximum speed limit of <br />40 miles an hour requested by President B~osevelt; <br /> <br />(2) Curtailment of all unnecessary driving; <br /> <br />(3) The sharing of business drivihg with friends, neighbors <br /> and fellow employees on a reciprocal basis; <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />Voluntary periodical inspection of automobiles and <br />tires to assure maximum life; <br /> <br />The staggering of business hours to relieve Sverloads <br />on available mass transportation facilities. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of <br />at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of April, 1942. <br /> <br />Santa Ann <br /> <br />Joseph P.
