Township Five (8) South, Range Ten (10) West, S.B.B.&.M., described <br /> as follows: Beginning 140 feet ~th and 115 feet East of the inter- <br /> section of the North llne of Thi~d Street with the East llne of Birch <br /> Street, being the Northeast corner of the land described in the deed <br /> to Santa Ana Armory Hall recorded July 26th, 1910 in Book 172, page <br /> 342 of Deeds; thence East along the Easterly extension of the North line <br /> of the lands so conveyed, 38 feet; thence South 68 feet to the Northeast <br /> corner of Lot Fifty (80) of "The Park Tract Addition to Santa Ana", as <br /> shown on a Licensed Surveyor,s Map filed in Book 1, page 30 of Records of <br /> Surveys in the office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California; <br /> thence West along the North line of said Lot Fifty, 38 feet to the South- <br /> east corner of the land conveyed to said Santa Ana Armory Hall; thence <br /> North 68 feet to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> 2. That the UnitedStates of America desires to lease the ground floor of <br /> <br /> the property hereinbefore described and arrange for broadcasts therefrom to the nation <br /> at large for the Nest Coast Air Force Training Center in connection with the recruiting <br /> service of said Center. That the sum appropriated for that purpose by the United <br /> <br /> States of America is not sufficient to pay for the broadcasting equipment and compensatilon <br /> to First Parties so that they can maintain their property in a solvent condition and <br /> without danger of loss therefrom. That the said broadcasts will be to the nation at <br /> large and will give great and favorable publicity to the Second Party and will <br /> advertise said Second Party through the length and breadth of the nation at large. <br /> <br /> That First Parties are willing to lease the ground floor of said property to the United <br /> States of America at s sum which they have determined will be less than sufficient to <br /> maintain the property in a solvent condition and without danger of loss therefrom, for <br /> the purpose of arranging and making said broadcasts, for the term of the present <br /> national emergency and six months thereafter, provided Second Party will agree during <br /> said term to pay First Parties herein the sum of One Hundred Ten Dollars ($110.00) per <br /> <br />~ month, commencing at the time of the effective date of the lease between First Parties <br />and the United~States of America. <br /> <br /> 3. Therefore, in consideration of First Parties entering into the said lease <br /> and to partially defray the expense of First Parties in providing the said location for <br /> the said broadcasting and for the publicity and advertising which Second Party will <br /> ~eceive from said broadcasts, Second Party agrees to pay to First Parties monthly, <br /> commencing with the effective date of the lease from First Parties ~ the United States <br /> of America, and continuing during the term of said lease or until said broadcasts shall <br /> cease, whichever shall be the earlier, the sum of One Hundred Ten Dollars ($110.00) <br /> per month. Said sum shall be paid from the fund provided for in Ordinance No. 1031 <br /> of the City of Santa Ana, entitled "An Ordinance Appropriating Not To Exceed Five Cents <br /> On Each One Hundred Dollars of Assessed Valuation for Each Year Hereafter To Be Used <br /> For Publicity and Advertising", enacted July 6, 1936. <br /> <br /> IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Santa Ana Post No. 131 of the American Legion, Department <br />of California, one of First Parties, has caused these presents to be executed by its <br />Commander and Adjutant under authority of its membership; Santa Ana Armory Hall, a <br />corporation, the other First Party, has caused these presents to be executed by its <br />President and Secretary thereunto duly authorized by resolution of its Board of <br />Directors; and Second Party has caused these presents to be executed by its Mayor, <br />attested by its Clerk, by resolution of its Board of Trustees, the day and year herein <br />first above written. <br /> <br />SANTA ANA POST NO. 131 OF THE <br />AMERICAN LEGION, DEPARTMENT OF <br /> CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />By: .... <br /> <br />Oomander <br /> <br />Adjutant <br /> <br /> <br />
