The minimum ws. ge paid to all skilled labor for which rates are not shown above, shall be not less than $ 1.38. per hour'; The minimum wage paid to all inter~aediate labor for which rates are not shown above, shall be not less than $ 1.35 per hour° The minimum wage paid to all unskilIed labor for which rates a~e not shown above, shall be not less than $..1.~.~.5 per hour. Overtime - one and one-half (1~) times the above rates. Sundays and holidays (except watchmen, guards and flag- men) one and one-half (1~) times the above rates. The foregoing prevailing wage schedules a~e based upon a working day of eight (8) hours, and in the event that laborers, workmen or mechanics are employed less than eight (8) hours per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that~ frac- tion of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of employment bea~s to eight (8). In accordance with the provisions of Section 177V.5 of the Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939, and in accordance with ~xe regulations of the CalifornisApprenticeship Council, properly indentured apprentices may be employed in the prosecution of the work. The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order of the City of Santa Aha, or a bidder,~ bond, for an amount not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if the same is awarded to him, and in event of failure to enter into such contract s~id check or bond shall become the property of the City~ The amount of the bond to be given to secure a faithful performance of the contract for said work shall be fifty (50) pep cent of the contract price thereof, and sn additional bo~d in an amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price for said work shall be given to-secure the payment of claims for any materials or supplies furnished for the performance of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any work or labor of amy kind done thereon and the Contractor will als~ be required to furnish a certificate that he carries compensation insurance cover- ing his employees upon work to be done under contract which may be entered into between him and the .said City for the construction of said work. No bid will be accepted from a contractor who is not licensed in accordance with the'provisions of the Contractors License Act, or to whom a proposal form has no~ been issued by the City Engineer. ~e work is to be done in accordance with the profiles, plans and specifications of the City of Santa Ana on file in the office of the City Engineer, Room 201, of the City Hall of Santa Aha, California. Copies of the plans and specifications will be furnished upon application to the City E~gineeP for ~ich a deposit of ten (lC) dollars will be required. The deposit will be refunded upon ret~n of plans s4u~ specifications.
