RESOLUTIO Mo. 56 5 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF ASSIGN- ~m~NT TO THE UNITED STATES OF A~RICA OF ~PTION AND HIGHT TO PURCHA3E REAL PROPERTY the United ~tates of America, by and through the War Assets ~am~nistration, has served upon this City its notice of #Election to E~erciee 0ptione, under the provisions of the lease entered into between this City and the United States of America, dated July 1, 1941, pursuant to Resolution No. ~006 of this Oouncil, and, WHEREA~, the 0ity of ~anta ~na is the Lessee under a lease from M.H. Whittier Company, Ltd., a corporation, of that portion of said property covered by said lease to the United.States Government, described as follows: CAll that real property situated in the County of Orange, State of California, more particularly described as follows: Those portions of Lots 8,g,ll and 12, Berry Rancho, as shown on a map recorded in Book 9, page ?, Mis- cellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, lying easterly of the east line of that certain County Road, of variable width, known as and called ~anta And Road, and westerly of that certain strip of land, approximately 68 feet in width, conveyed to the ~anta And Railroad by deed dated May 5, 18gl, and recorded in Book ?8, page ~7, Deeds, Records of Orange County", which said lease contains an option to the City of Santa And to ptu~- chase the said property above described for the sum of $206,000.00. N~, TN~EFO~E, BE IT HF~OLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ama, that the Mayor of the City of Santa Asa be, and he here- by is, authorized and directed on behalf of the City of Santa And, to execute and deliver to the United States of America an assignment to it of all right, title and interest which the 0ity of Santa And may have in and to the option to purchase contained in the lease from M.H. Whittier Company, Ltd. to the City of Santa And, and the right therein contained to purchase said property above described, a copy -1-
