RESOLUTION 64-135 OVERRULTWG 'ram DECISION OF <br />'I'M ZONING ADMINISTRATOR AND GRANTING A <br />VARIANCE ON APPLICATION NO. 1989 FIT.~ BY <br />STATER BROS. MAES, SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS <br /> <br /> WHEHEAS, STATER BROS. MABKETS filed Variance Application No. 1989 <br />seeking to erect a 53-foot high sign at a location where the stated maximum <br />is 35 feet in height and requesting deletion of a cc~dition requiring tree <br />plantings along common boundaries with adjoining properties, and the <br />Zoning Administrator, after public hearing, denied said application; and <br /> <br /> Wa~i~EAS, applicator filed Appeal Applicatima No. 135, and the <br />City Council, after public hearing~ determined that said Variamce Applicati(~a <br />sheml~ he gramted for the reaso~ that the positio~ of said sign will he so <br />distant frnm the ~earest szlJoining property as to in no wa~ affect it; that <br />the conditio~ requiring tree plantings adjacent to adjoining property would <br />seriously reduce the par~f~E area and a 6-foot block wall along said south <br />amd east property lines wo~l~ provide protectioa to said adJoint-E properties <br />and co~serve off-street par~fng areas~ and that all of the statute and <br />ordinance requirements for the granting of a variance are adequately met. <br /> <br /> NOW, T~/~tEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council overrules <br />the Zoning Administrator and grants Variance Application No. 1989 to permit <br />the placement of a 53-foot high sign tower adjacent to Edinger Avenue in <br />strict accordance with site plans submitted by applicant and deleting the <br />requirement for a tree planting strip alang the south and east boundaries <br />of said property on the following conditions: <br /> <br />That applicant shall construct a 6-foot block wall <br />along the south and east property lines of subject <br />property; <br /> <br />2.
