RESOLUTION 64-164 ORDERING THAT ORDINANCE NS-743 <br />SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br />TO BE HELD ON APRIL 6, 1965, TO ALLOW SAID <br />ELECTORS TO VOTE ON THE QUESTION RAISED BY <br />REFERENDUM PETITION AS TO WHETHER OR NOT SAID <br />ORDINANCE NS-743 SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Santa Ana City Council adopted Ordinance NS-743 <br />on August 3, 1964, and thereafter a referendum petition signed by <br />more than 1~ of the registered electors of the City was filed with <br />the Clerk of the Council requiring said City Council to entirely <br />repeal said Ordinance or submit the same to the voters at a regular <br />or special election; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said Ordinance may not become effective until a <br />majority of the voters voting on said Ordinance vote in favor of it. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby <br />orders that said Ordinance be submitted to the electors of the City <br />of Santa Ana, California, at the General Municipal Election to be <br />held on April 6, 1965, by placing a proposition upon the ballot in <br />words and figures, as follows: <br /> <br />Shall Ordinance NS-743 changing territory <br />therein described from the R-1 (Single <br />Family Residence District) to the R-4 <br />(Suburban Apartment District) be adopted <br />to become effective in the City of <br />Santa Ana? <br /> <br />: YES : : <br />: NO : : <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said proposition is submitted <br />to the voters as provided for in §4052 of the Elections Code of the <br />State of California to determine whether or not said voters desire <br />Ordinance NS-743, against which a proper referendum petition has <br />been filed, to become effective. If a majority of the voters voting <br />on said Ordinance vote in favor of it, that is, stamp an X in the <br />box next to the word "YES" to the right of said proposition, then <br />said Ordinance shall go into effect; and if a majority of such <br />voters stamp an X in the box next to the word "NO" to the right of <br />said proposition, then said Ordinance shall not become effective <br />and the R-1 zoning on the land described in said Ordinance shall <br />remain in full force and effect. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of November, 1964. <br /> <br />~TEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) SS <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> I, DORIS M.
