150 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 611, <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE CARRYING OF CONCEALED WEAPONS <br />AND PROVIDING FOR THE CONFISCATION OF THE Sk~E AND REPEALING ANY <br />AND ALL LAWS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; .AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR <br />THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE SAME. <br /> <br /> The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana do ordain <br /> <br />as follows, to-wit:- <br /> Section 1.- It shall be unlawful for any person within the <br /> corporate limits of the City of Santa Ana, Orange County,California <br /> other than a duly elected or appointed peace officer, to carry <br /> concealed upon his person, or about his person, any revolver,pistol, <br /> dagger, dirk, slug or sling-shot, billy or other deadly weapon or <br /> instrument, without first having ootained a written permit from <br /> the City Marshal. <br /> <br /> Section 2.- The City Marshal of the said City may, in his <br />discretion, issue permits to responsible persons to carry concealed <br />weapons for a period of time not exceeding the term for which such <br />Marshal shall have been elected. <br /> <br /> Section 3.- All permits issued by the City Marshal must be <br /> <br />in writing and sig~ed by said Marshal, and a record thereof kept in <br />the Marshal's office; such permit must contain the name, age,occupa- <br />tion, residence, height, weight, and any visible scars or marks of <br />identification, the color of the hair and eyes, of the person to whom <br />such permit is issued, also the kind, make, number and calibre of the <br />weapon desired to be carried. <br /> <br /> Section 4.- Every person desiring to obtain a permit from <br /> <br />the marshal to carry any concealed weapon, referred to in section <br />one (1) of this Ordinance, must file with the Marshal, a writtem <br />application for t~e same, which application must be signed by the <br />person making such application, and a record thereof preserved in <br /> <br />the said Marshal's office; <br />age, occupation, residence, <br />or marks of. identification, <br /> <br />said application must contain the name, <br /> <br /> height, weight, and any visible scars <br /> the color of the hair and eyes of the <br /> <br />person making such application; also the kind or make, number and <br />calibre of the weapon desired to be carried. <br /> <br /> Section 5.- Every person having a permit as provided for <br />herein and who refuses to exhibit such permit upon demand of any <br />peace officer of this City is guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> Section 6.- Every person violating any of the provisions <br />of thi~ Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon <br />conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two <br />hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period <br />not exceeding one hundred days, or by both such fine and imprison,- <br />ment in th~ discretion of the Court. <br /> <br /> Section 7.- All concealed weapons found on persons vio- <br />lating the provisions <br /> <br />of this Ordinance, shall upon conviction of <br /> <br /> <br />
