176 <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 624. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana, Cadifornia, <br />Pertaining to the Licensing and Regulation of "Box Ball" <br />and"Bowling Alleys" and repealing Section la of Ordinance <br />No.536, and Subdivision "d, of Section 5 <br />to the extent that the same shall affect <br /> <br />of Ordinance No.590, <br />this Ordinance. <br /> <br /> The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa And, California, <br /> does ordain as follows:- <br /> <br /> Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or <br /> corporation, either by themselves or agents to maintain or <br /> operate any"box ball or bowling alley" in the City of Santa And, <br /> California, without first having obtained a license from the <br /> City OIerk of the City of Santa Ana, Californ~a. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The licenss fee for operating a "Box ball <br /> <br /> or Bowling Alley" in the City of Santa And, California, shall <br /> be the sum of $12.00 per annum for each alley,, payable quarter- <br /> ly in advance. An alley installed shall be deemed to be in <br /> operation whether in use or not. <br /> <br /> Section 3. There shall be no restriction as to age <br /> <br /> or sex as to persons entitled to visit or engage in said games~ <br /> as imposed by this Ordinance. <br /> <br /> Section 4. It shall be unlawful to operate or carry on <br />any "Box Ball or Bowling Alley" in the City of Santa Ana, Calif- <br />ornla, on any hour of the day usually denominated and generally <br />known as Sunday, or at any hour later than twelve o'clock at <br />midnight nor earlier than 5 o'clock a.m. of the following day,. <br />and further provided that such business shall not be carried ~_~ <br />on in any room or place where there is any partition or ob- <br />struction separating in part or in whole any section of such <br />room or place from any other part ef section thereof so as to <br />obstruct a clear view of such room or place from the street <br />fronting upon such place of business, or in any room or place <br />having stalls, side rooms or compartments partitioned or built <br />off from the room or place where such business is conducted, <br />or in any room or place where a clear and unobstructed view <br />of the entire room or place can not be readily had from the <br />street adjoining such place of business. <br /> <br /> Nothing herein contained shall apply to prevent the <br />maintenance of toilets in any such room or place. <br /> <br /> Section 5. Any person violating the provisions of <br />this Ordinance shall be declared guilty of a misdeme?nor and <br />upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not in excess <br />of $100.00 or 20 days in Jail or both in the disc~etion of the <br /> <br />COurt. <br /> <br />nances <br />ed. <br /> <br /> Section 6.
