171 <br /> <br />NO. 621. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana, defining "Transient or <br />Itinerant Merchant" and fixing License and providing Penalty and <br />repealing Ordinances in conflict therewith. <br /> <br /> The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, does ordain <br /> <br />as follows:- <br /> <br /> Section 1. For the purpose of this Ordinance an "itinerant <br /> <br />or transient merchant' is herein defined as a person, firm or <br />corporation, temporarily located and temporarily carrying on <br />business in offering for sale goods, wares or merchandise or <br />products temporarily placed in the building for sale and without <br />intent and purpose or intent or purpose on the part of said person, <br />firm or corporation to continue permanently and to carry on the same <br />line of business in the City of Santa Ana, California. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any itinerant or transient <br />merchant, either person, firm or corporation, as herein defined to <br />engage in business in the City of Santa Aha, California, by offering <br />for s als goods, wares or merchandise or produce without having first <br /> <br /> as hereinafter provided from the City of Santa Ana <br /> <br />obtained a license <br />California. <br /> <br /> Section 3. <br /> <br /> The license fees for itinerant or transient mer- <br />chants shall be the sum of $200.00 per quarter, payable in advance, <br />or $5.00 per day for any period of time less than a quarter and <br />payable in advance. <br /> <br /> Section 4. Any Ordinance or Ordinances in conflict with <br />the provisions cf this Ordinance or part or parts thereof as the <br />same mffects this Ordinance is to that extent hereby repealed. <br /> <br /> Eection 5. The ~ity Clerk shall certify to the passage of <br />this Ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the <br />"Santa Ana D~ily Register" a newspaper of general circulation <br />in the City of Santa Ana, Callfornia, and the same shall take effect <br />and be in force at the end of thirty days from the publication <br />thereof. <br /> <br /> The above Ordinance was passed and adopted by the Board of <br />Trustees of the City of Santa An~,Cal. on the 2nd day of April, <br />1917, by the following vtoe to-wit:- <br />Ayes, Trustees Tubbs, NcPhee, Maryatt,and Visel. <br />Noes, Trustees None. <br /> <br />Not voting, Trustee Greenleaf. <br /> <br /> A.J.VISEL <br /> President cf the Board of Trustees of <br /> the City of Santa Ana, California. <br /> <br />Approved this 2nd day of April, 191?. <br /> <br /> A.J.VISEL <br /> President of the Board of Trustees of <br /> the City of Santa Ana, Ca~ifornia. <br /> <br /> <br />
