247 Ordinance No. 635. An Ordinance of the City of Santa Aha, addingba new section to Ordinance No. 441, to be known as Sec. and providing for a permit from the Supt. of Streets before making excavations in the streets and alleys of said City. The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha does ordain as follows: Section I. That a new section be added to Ordin- ance No. 441, to be known as Section lb, pertaining to the excavation inmstreete mild alleys of the City of Santa Aha, by persons, firms and corporations other than the officers and employees of said city authorized to perform said work Santa Aha, and to be ordained as follows, by the City of to-wit: That every person firm or corporation de- siring to dig in the streets or alleys of the city of Santa Aha, for the purpose of laying gas pipe,water pipe, sewer or other work in said streets or alleys by reason of which the surface of the said street or alley shall be disturbed or torn up or broken, must, before beginning such work, obtain a written permit from the Superintendent of Streets of said city, designating the time and ~lace and the amount and character of said work to be performed, providing, however, that this provision shall not apply to any of the officers or employees of said city under the direction of the officers of the various city depsmtmente. Section II. That section 11 of ordinance No. 426 of the City of Santa Ana as the same effects this ordinance is hereby repealed. Section III.
