RESOLUTION 65-42 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br />OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO PERMIT THE COUNTY <br />CLERK OF SAID COUNTY TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES <br />TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA IN THE PREPARATION FOR <br />THE HOLDING OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO <br />BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON APRIL 6, 1965 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election is to be held in the <br />City of Santa Ana on April 6, 1965; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the course and conduct of said Election and as <br />a necessary preliminary step to inform the voters as required by <br />statute the Clerk of the Council of said City is required to cause <br />the mailing of a sample ballot, the polling place card, and a <br />pamphlet describing the propositions to be voted on and the arguments <br />for and/or against said propositions to each registered voter of the <br />City, and it will greatly assist said Clerk of the Council in the <br />preparation for said mailing if the County Clerk of the County of <br />Orange will prepare and furnish to the City the imprinting of the <br />names and addresses of the registered voters of said City on <br />envelopes furnished by the City and further will provide for the <br />insertion of a sample ballot, a polling place card, and a pamphlet <br />describing the propositions to be submitted to said voters and <br />containing the arguments thereon; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said County Clerk's office has informed said Clerk <br />of the Council that the charge for imprinting the names and addresses <br />of registered voters of the City on envelopes is one cent per name <br />and the charge for inserting the printed matter in the envelopes is <br />$8.00 per thousand envelopes for four or less insertions which would <br />cover the three insertions required by said City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City agrees to pay to the County the cost of <br />performing these services. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED: That pursuant to <br />§22003 of the Elections Code of the State of California, the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests the Board of <br />Supervisors of the County of Orange to permit the County Clerk to <br />imprint the names and addresses of registered voters of the City on <br />envelopes to be furnished by the City and to provide for the insertion <br />into each of said envelopes of a sample ballot, a polling place card, <br />and a pamphlet describing the propositions to be voted upon and <br />arguments regarding the same which are necessary for the use of the City <br />in conducting its General Municipal Election to be held on April 6, <br />1965. <br /> <br /> That said City shall, and hereby agrees to, reimburse said <br />County for said services performed when the work is completed and <br />upon presentation of properly approved bill to said City. <br /> <br /> That the Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to forward <br />to said Board of Supervisors and to the County Clerk of the County <br />of Orange a certified copy of this Resolution. <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana at its regular meeting held on the 1st day of March, 1965. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br /> <br />
