254 <br /> <br /> as the same may be applicable. <br /> <br /> The polls must be open a.t 6 o'clock a.m. of the morning of <br /> <br /> the day of election and must be kept open until ? o'clock p.m. <br /> <br /> of the evening of the same day when the polls shall be closed. <br /> <br /> Section 5- Notices of said election containing tho names <br /> <br /> of the offices to be filled, the names of the inspectors, Judges <br /> and clerksconstituting the boards of election appointed to Con- <br /> duct said election, the time of opening and closing the polls <br /> and the polling places shall be given by the 01erk as required by law. <br /> <br /> Section 6. At least ten days before the election to be held <br />in the City of Santa Ana for the election of said officers as afore- <br />said, the City Clerk of said City shall cause to be published in at <br />least two newspapers of general circulation in said City a list of <br />nominations to office filed with him as required by law. <br /> <br /> Section ?. Said City Clerk shall cause to be made not less <br />than two (2) publications of said list in each of said newspapers <br />before Election Day, one of which publications must be made upon <br />the last day upon which said newspaper is issued before the day of <br />election. The list of nominations published by him as aforesaid <br />shall be arrsmged in the order and form in which they will be printed <br />upon the ballot. The City Clerk shall also procure and cause to <br />be printed sample ballots setting forth the list of nominations for <br />office filed with him, arranged as they will be arranged on. the <br />regular election ballot, and he shall within the time and in the <br />manner provided for by law send one of such sample ballots to each <br />qualified elector of said city. <br /> <br /> The City Clerk shall furnish twelve cards .of instruction to <br />the Boards of Election in each precinct of said City at the se.me time <br />and in the same manner as the printed ballots. <br /> <br /> The Boards of Election shall post at least one of such cards <br />in each such booth or compartment provided for the preparation of <br />abllots and not less than three of such at other places in and about <br />the polling places on the day of election. <br /> <br /> Sections 1214 and 1215 of the Political Code and Section 61 <br />of the Penal Code shall also be printed on each of said cards. <br /> <br /> Section ~. The City Clerk shall cause this Ordinance to be <br />published three times in the "Santa Aha Daily Evening Register" a <br />newspaper published and generally circulated in said City and thereupon <br />and thereafter it shall take effect and be in force, this Ordinance <br />being otherwise expressly required by the laws of the ~tate of C~li- <br />fornia, aa pertaining to an election. <br /> <br /> The above Ordinance was passed and adopted and approved on <br />the 24th day of February, 1919, by the following vote to-wit: <br />Ayes,Trustees Tubbs, Maryatt, McPhee, and Greenleaf. <br />Noes,Trustees None, Absent, President Vieel. <br /> <br /> Si.~;lled and approved this 2~th day of February, 1919. <br /> <br /> O.H.NARYATT <br /> Pres.
