,384 the capital invested for such operation, then the grantee, its successors or assigns may, after ten (10) days notice to the Board of Trustees, discontinue operation on such street or streets. No automobile bus shall be operated on any street or part of streets in the city of Santa Aha until the same shall be designated by the Board of Trustees. S~c~ton 5. No automobile bus operated under this franchise shall stop to receive or discharge passengers at any place on the street except as follows:- (a) Where the automobiles bus is being operated ~ in an easterly dir~ction on a street and another street intersects or terminates in that street, then on the south side of the street at or near the west line of the inter- secting or terminating street. (b) '~ere the automobile bus is being operated in a westerly direction on a street, and another street intersects Or terminates in that street, then on the north side of the street at or near the east line of t~e inter- secting or terminating street. (c) ~ere the automobile bus is being operated in a northerly direction on a street, and another street inter- sects or terminates in that street, then on the east side of the street at or near the south line of the intersecting or terminating street. (d) ~ere the automobile bus is being operated in a southerly direction on a street, and another street inter- sects or terminates in thot street, then on the west side of the street at or near the northerly line of the or terminating street. Section 6. No automobile bus shall be operated uuder this franchise or transport any person therein until there shall have been provided for, and legally applicable to such automobile bus, a contract of liability, indemnity, or insurance, executed by the principal and at least two sureties, or a solvent surety como~.ny, legally authorized to write and transact that character of business in the State of California, approved by the Board of Trustees of the city of Santa Aha, in the sum of ~10,000.00 on each automobile bus. Such contracts may be a separate one on each bus, or a general contract appllcab]e to all automobile busses used. Each and every one of said contracts shall be in t~e form and contain the conditions, provisions, and substance required by the Board of Trustees, and shall provide for the payment to any and all persons who, as a passenger on a bus to which the same is applicable, may be injured or damaged through or on account
