ORDINANCE N~BER 681. An ordinance of the city of Santa Ana by its Board of Trustees as the legislative branch thereof, ordering the submission to the electors of Said city of the question of whether, or not certain new and uninhabited territory shall be annexed bo and incorporated in and made a part of such mtunicipal corporation and calling a special election for that purpose and fixing the date on which such election will be held, the manner of holding such election, designating B~ecial precincts for said election, naming election officers therefor and the comoensat~.on thereof, directing notice to be given and providing that in all particulars not recited in this ordinance,' such election~ shall be held as provided by ]aw for holdin~ municipal elections in the city of Santa Aha. Whereas, the Board of Trustees of the city of Santa Ana did on the 20th day of ~ebruary, 1922, receive and file~a written.petition signed by qualified electors of said city more than one-tenth in number of the qualified electors of such municipal corporation computed upon the number of votes cast at tYe'last general election held therein asking that the boundaries of the City of Santa Ana be altered and new, unh~bited territory annexed there- to, incorporated therein and included therein and contain- ing the descriotton of the said new and unhabited territory asked to be ~ncluded in such corporation; and ~ereas, without delay, to-wit, on the 21st day of Februar!y, 19~2, the city of Santa Aha notified the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, the county in which the city of ~anta Aha is located, of the fact of the filing of said petition; and, Whereas, the Board of Supervisors of Orange County on the 21st day of February, 1922. received such notifi- cation fixing a time and place for hearing objections to said annexation and caused notice to be 'published and the same was published for fiv~ days in the Santa Aha .- Daily Evening Register, a newspaper printed, published and circulated in the County of Orange, State of California, on t~e 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th and 2Vth of February, 1922, which notice set forth a general description of the lands sought to be annexed to the city of Santa Ana and announced the time and place when and where objectiofls to said annexations would be heard; and Whereas, at the time and place fixed and announced in said notice, the Board of Supervisors of 0r~ge County proceeded to hear new protestations; and
