correct re~'ort to the.Board of Trustees under oath at the first <br /> regular meeting of each month showing from whom received and <br /> for what ~urposes and the number of animals taken by him into <br /> the public pound and also the number redeemed from him and <br /> shall pay into the City Treasury all_ money received in excess <br /> 'of the 75~ allowed as his salary and thnt of bis deputies. <br /> <br /> Section 11. All animals herein specified in this <br /> Ordinance required to be destroyed shall be cremated or other- <br /> wise disposed of by the pound-keeper in a manner to be approved <br /> by the Board of Trustees and without expense to the City. <br /> <br /> Section 12. All. persons owning or ~aving under their <br /> control vicious or dangerous dogs shall keep the same securely <br /> muzzled and within ~n enclosure or in charge of some person fn <br /> their employ and the ~ound-kee~er and ]~is deputies are hereby <br /> req~.~ired to seize and carry to the public pound ~ll such vicious <br /> and dangerous dogs when not muzzled, also all female dogs in <br /> heat at any time in any of t~e streets or any public or unin- <br /> closed place in the City with or without tags. <br /> <br /> Section 13. The pound-keeper shall keep all dogs taken <br /> up by him for two days thereafter and if redeemed is entitled <br /> to charge and receive ~%].00 for each dog provided that he may <br /> charge ~.00 for redemption of a vicious, dangerous or female <br /> dog in heat. If any dog be not redeemed within two days he <br /> <br /> shall destroy it, provided thnt vicious and dangerous dogs may <br /> be destroyed at any time after 12 hours. <br /> <br /> Section 14. No person shall resist~ obstruct, or pre- <br /> vent the pound-keeper or any of ~is deputies or assistants in <br /> the exercise of bis duties as such and any person who shall <br /> violate any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed <br /> guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be <br /> punished by a fine of not less than ~,~5.00 and not more than <br /> ~100.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail for not less than <br /> 5 days nor more than 50 days, or both in the discretion of the <br /> C curt. <br /> <br /> Section 15. ~hen any animal is taken up for impounding <br /> which by reason of age, disease or other infirmity is u~fit for <br /> <br /> further use or dangerous to be kept impounded the pound-keeper <br />shall within 24 hours thereafter destroy such animal upon <br /> <br /> examination and recon~.endation of the City Health Officer or his <br /> deputy or any reputable veterinary surgeon, but no charge there- <br /> for shall be made against t~e City. <br /> <br /> Section 16. All 0rdinanc~or Darts of Ordinances in <br /> conflict w~th this Ordinance are hereby to that extent repealed. <br /> <br /> The City Clerk shall cause ~his Ordinance to be published <br /> for 3 times in the SANTA ANA DAILY EVENING REGISTER, a newspaper <br /> published and circulated in the City of Santa Aha, and thirty <br /> days t~ereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. <br /> <br /> <br />
