<br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA FOR THE PUBLIC
<br />INTEREST, HEALTH, COMFORT, CONVENIENCE, PRESERVATION OF THE
<br />PUBLIC PEACE, SAFETY, MORALS, ORDER AND THE PT,~BLIC WELFARE,
<br />PROVIDING FOR AND DEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OF FOUR DISTRICTS
<br />AND PRESCRIBING _~.F CTASSES OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND
<br />IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID.SEVERJ~L DISTRICTS, A~ID THE USE THEREOF~
<br />DEFINING THE TER~f~S USED ttEREIN A~YD PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY
<br />FOR THE VIOLATION OF T}~E PROVISIONS HEREOF.

<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha is in incorporated city
<br />
<br />of the State of Cslffornia~ and there iS not provided for or
<br />existing in said c ~y a city planning commission; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the public interest, health, comfort, convenience,
<br />preserv~tlon of public peace, safety, morals, order and
<br />p~!Ic welfare of the City of Santa Ana requires a division
<br />of said city into districts within some of which it s~all be
<br />lawful and within others of which it shall be unlawful to
<br />erect, construct,'operate or ~aintain certain buildings or
<br />to carry on certain trades or callings and further requires
<br />the regulation of the use of the buildings, structures a~d
<br />
<br />improvements constructed and erected within each of said 1
<br />districts and f~ther requires the regulation of the area
<br />of yards, courts and open spaces within said districts; and
<br />~.~EREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa
<br />after'holding public meetings, made a tentative report con-
<br />cerning the boundaries of certain districts at and within
<br />the City of Santa Ana; and imposition of regulations upon
<br />and the restriction and segregating of industries, trades,
<br />callings, or business therein; and
<br /> %'~EREAS, the Board of Trustees filed and submitted its
<br />fibal report at a regular meeting thereof, ~d on the 6th
<br />day of Noven~er, 19~2; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees on said 6th day o~
<br />November, 19~2, fixed the hour of 7:Z0 o'clock p.m. of Fri-
<br />day, the 10th day of November, 19~2,'hnd the Council
<br />Chamber of the Board of Trustees in the City Hal i in the
<br />City of Santa Ana, am the time and t~laee where any and all
<br />persons particularly interested and the general public
<br />would be afforded an opportunity to be heard, and directed
<br />notices of said hearing to be published three consecutive
<br />
<br /> days in the "Santa Aha D~
<br /> =~j Evening Register", a daily local
<br />
<br /> newspaper of general circulation within the City of Santa
<br />
<br /> Ana, and designated for that purpose; and
<br />
<br /> ?HEt~EA$, pursuant to said direction, the Clerk of the
<br />
<br /> City of Santa %tua caused to be published, and there w~s
<br /> published, for three consecutive days in said "Santa Ana
<br /> Daily ~vening Register", on the ?~h, 8th and 9th days of
<br /> November, 1~22, notice of said heari~g, specifying the tlue
<br /> and place thereof, the matter to be considered thereat, and
<br /> inviting any ~nd all persons part~c~!arly interested and
<br /> the general public to aFpear and be heaz~d, a~.d w~ch nctice~
