The Street Superintendent is hereby authorized to erect and maintain <br />signs designating the provisions of thi~ section. <br /> <br /> It shall be-unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to park said <br />vehicle for a period of time longer than thirty (ZO) minutes between the hours <br />of two A.]~l. and five A.M. of any day. <br /> <br />Section XXVIII. MANNER OF P~.~KKING. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to park said <br />vehicle other than parallel with the curb, e~cept where the Street Superintend- <br />ent has indicated that angle ~rking is permitted by the placing of white lines <br />upon the surface of the roadway, provided, however, that said Street Super- <br />'ntende~t shall in no place provide for angle parking where there is les~ <br />than fifteen (15) feet between the curb and the nearest rail of any street car <br />track. .. <br /> <br />Secti~ XXI~ PARKI~ VEHICLES FOR SALE. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for the operator'of any vehicle to park on any <br />street in the~city of Santa Ana any Vehicle upon which there is a "For Sale" <br />sign, or to park upcn any street any vehicle ~Or the purpose of dis playing it <br />for sale, or to park any vehicle upon any street in the Central Traffic Distric~ <br />or in any'business district, from which said vehicle merchandise is being sold. <br /> <br />ARTICLE VI. STREET CARS. <br /> <br />Section XXX. STREET CARS HAVE RIGHT OF WAY BETWEEN INTERSECT!G~S. <br /> <br /> It shall be mllawful for the operator of any vehicle Procee~ng upon <br />any street or track in front of a street car to f~l to remove said vehicle <br />from said track as soon as pract~lcable after signal from the operator of said <br />street car, unless prevented by other vehicles or while awaiting traffic signal. <br /> <br />Section XXXI. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for the operator of any train or trains of cars <br />to operate the same in such a manner as to prevent the use of an~ street for <br />purposes of travel for a ~riod of time longer than five (8) minutes. <br /> <br />Sectim XXXII. STRELT CA~ <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for the operator of any street car to drive said <br /> ~treet car at a rate of speed faster than in this section provided: <br /> (1) Fifteen (15) miles per hour at an obstructed grade crossing when <br /> engaged in turning curves that are obstructed, when crrossing obstructed, when <br /> crossing obstructed highway crossings; when p~ssing schools while persons are <br /> entering or leaving the grounds, and in the business districts; <br /> (2) Twenty (20) miles per hour in residence districts. <br /> (3) Thirty-five (35) miles per hour at any place other than those <br /> specified in paragraphs 1.and 2 of this section within the said limits of the <br />city' of Santa Ans. <br /> <br />Section ~XIII. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for the operator of a~v vehicle upon overtaking <br />any stre%t car to pass said street when any such street car is within one <br />hundred (100) feet of any street intersection being approached by said vehicle, <br />or to pass any street car that has stopped for the purpose of losing or unload- <br />ing passengers unti~ such vehicle has been brought to a complete stop at the <br />rear of the nearest entrance of such street car, said vehicle to remain stand- <br />ing ~tiL all doors of said street car are closed or until all.passengers have <br />boarded or alighted from said car, unles~ there is in the roadway a marked <br />safety zone, in which case vehicles stopped in compliance with the provisions <br />of this section may proceed with due regard for ~e safety of pedestrians in <br />the roadway. <br /> The Street Superintendent is hereby authorized to p]~ ce and maintain <br />by the use of traffic buttons, or painted lines safety zones at all regular <br />street car stops in the City of Santa Ana, ~herein his ~scretion, safety <br />zones are required for the safety of pedestrians. <br /> <br />SectionXXXIV. BOARI]ING STR~T CARS. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to board of ~light from a street <br />car or vehicle while~such street car or vehicle is in motion. <br /> <br />Section XXXV. RIDING ON CAR STEPS. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to ride upon the fender or <br />running board of any street car or vehicle. <br /> <br />S~2ion XX~XVI. EXCEPTIONS. <br /> <br /> Notwithstanding any o~er section of this ordinance the provisions <br />of this ordinance shall not apply to emergency vehicles of the police departmen <br />or fire department of the City of Santa Aha, nor to any phblic utility or any <br />other vehicle actually engaged in the performance of emergency duties necessary <br />to be performed by said public departments or by any phblic utility. <br /> <br /> <br />
