ORDINANCE NO. 874. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF E{E CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION. <br /> <br /> WHERE~S, a special election was held in that territory known as "North Flower <br />Addition", on Thursday, the 18th day of April, 1929, pursuant to the pr~visions of an <br />Act of the Legislature of June ll, 1913, relating to the annexation of territory to <br />municipalities, and found in the Statutes of 1913, Page 887, as subsequently amended, at <br />which e~ection there was submitted the question of whether said new territory hereinafteI <br />described should be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ana <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice <br />and manner as required by <br /> <br /> of said election was given by publication, in the time, form <br /> <br /> said Act, as appears from the affidavit of C.H. Powell, <br />Business Mgr. Anaheim Bulletin, on file with the City Clerk; and <br /> <br /> ~VHEREAS, it appears that said special election was held in accordance with law <br />and said notice on Thursday, the 18th day of April, 1929, and that the polls for said <br />election were kept open during the time required by law, to-wit: from six o~clock A.M. <br />to seven o'clock P.M. of said day, and that said special election was held and conducted <br />and the votes received and canvassed, and the result thereof determined and declared in <br />the time, <br /> <br />of April, <br /> <br />form and manner required by law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did on Monday, the 22nd day <br />1929, being the time provided for its regular meeting next after the expi~atior <br /> <br />of three (3) days from and after the date of said election, meet and proceed to canvass <br /> <br />~he returns of said special election as required by law; whereupon the result of said <br /> <br />canvass having been found to be as hereinafter stated; <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa &ua do ordain as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Santa Ana as <br /> <br />aforesaid is particularly described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and part- <br />icularly described as follows: <br /> Beginning at a point in the Northerly boundary line of the City <br />of Santa Ana, said point.being distant 1D0 feet Westerly from the <br />Westerly line of Flower Street; thence Northerly and parallel'to <br />Flower Street to an intersection with the Southwesterly right-of-way <br />line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company; thence Northwesterly <br />along said Southwesterly right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific <br />Railroa~ Company to an intersection with the Westerly extended Northerly <br />line of Chapman Avenue as it exists Easterly from the said Southern <br />Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way; thence Easterly along the said <br />Westerly extended Northerly line of Chapman Avenue and along the Northerly <br />line of Chapman Avenue to an intersection with a line drawn parallel to <br />and distant 170 feet, measured at right angles, Northeasterly from the <br />Northeasterly ri~t-~f-way line of the said Southern Pacific Railroad <br />Company; thence Southeasterly along said line drawn parallel to and <br />distant 170 feet, measured at right angles, Northeasterly from the <br />Northeasterly right-of-way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company <br />to an intersection with the said Northerly boundary line of the City of <br />Santa Ana; thence Nesterly along said Northerly boundary line of said <br />City to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />there was but one election precinct established and provided for the <br /> <br />holding of said special electi~, the boundaries of which were the boundaries of said <br /> <br />3. That the whole number of votes cast upon said proposition in the territory <br /> <br />territory. <br /> <br />to be annexed aa aforesaid was Eight, and the number of votes cast therein in favor of <br /> <br />annexation was Eight, and the number of votes cast therein against annexation was none; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of said election held in <br /> <br />and <br /> <br /> <br />
