ORDINANCE NO. 881 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, ESTABLISHING <br /> SET-BACK LINES UPON NORTH SYCAMORE STREET, ON BOTH <br /> SIDES OF SAID STREET, FROM WASHINGTON AVENUE TO <br /> SEVENTEENTH STREET, EXCEPTING THE CORNER LOTS FACING <br /> WASHINGTON AVENUE, FIFTEENTH STREET AND SEVENTEENTH <br /> STREET RESPECTIVELY. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Aha, do ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the public interest and convenience requires, and there <br /> is hereby established set-back lines upon the following street in the City of Santa <br /> Ana, California, between which and the respective street lines of said street it <br /> shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect any Ouildlng, wall, <br /> fence or other structure, or place any structure thereon, to-wit: <br /> <br /> North Sycamore Street on both sides of said street, from Washington Avenue <br />to Seventeenth Street, ten (10) feet outside of the present East and West lines <br />respectively of said street, excepting from the provisions hereof the corner lots on <br />said portion of North Sycamore Street fronting on Washington Avenue, Fifteenth <br />Street and ~eventeenth Street respectively. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the foregoing set-back lines are established after a <br />Reso2utlon of Intention was duly passed and adopted and a hearing held thereon, <br />after notice by publication and p~sting in the manner prescribed by Ordinance No. 813 <br />of the City of Santa Aha, entitled, "An Ordinance Prescribing the Method of Procedure <br />for Establishing Set-back Lines in the City of Santa Ana" and the City Council having <br />heard and passed upon all protests or objecti~s filed or made to the establishment <br />of said set-back lines. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Building Inspector of the City of Santa Ana shall <br />refuse to issue any permit for any building, wall, fence or other structure proposed <br />to be erected within the space between the present street lines of ~he above mentioned <br />street~and the set-back lines established by this Ordinance. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the pro- <br />visions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction <br />thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($~00.00), <br />or by imprisonment in the County Jail of the County of Orange, for a ~riod of not <br />more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, ft~m <br />or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day during any <br />portion of which any violation of this ordinance shall be permitted, continued or <br />committed by such person, firm or corporation, and shall be punishable therefor as <br />provided by this ordinance. <br /> <br /> ~ection 5. That the City ~lerk shall certify ~o the pass~ge of this <br />ordinance and caus.~ the same to be published three times in the Santa Ana Daily Evenin <br />Register, a daily newspaper printed, published and generally circulated in the City <br />of Santa Aha, and the same shall take effect and be in force thirty (50) days from <br />the date of its final passage. <br /> <br /> The foregoing ordinance is signed and approved by me this 1Sth day of <br />July, 1929, <br /> <br /> F.
