ORDINANCE NO. 886 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 809 OF THE CITY <br /> OF SANTA ANA, PRESCRIBING THE CLASSES OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES <br /> AND IMPROVEMENTS AND USES OR ADDITIONS IN THE SEVERAL ZONES. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Aha do ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Section Ten (lC) of Zoning Ordinance No. 809 of the City of <br /> <br />Santa Ana, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "SECTION X. SPECIAL USES. <br /> <br /> Under the special uses are to be included garages, oil stations, hospitals, <br />undertaking parlors, chicken ranches, dairies, duplex dwellings, waste disposal plants <br />and the~manufacture of explosives, and such other buildings, structures or uses as do nc <br />come under either or any of the zones herein specifically mentioned; provided, that <br />school buildings and buildings erected by the City, County or State, shall be permitte~ <br />in any zone without any hearing upon the same, and shall not be included under the terms <br /> <br /> ordinance governing the erection or use of buildings or premises under Special <br /> <br />of this <br />Ulese <br /> <br /> These uses shall be permitted only upon application to the City Council, such <br />application to give an accurate description of the area to be used in such purposes, <br />the type of building to be erected for such uses, the ownership of the land, the person <br />or persons or corporation, to be responsible for such special use; and, whenever require~ <br />th~ applicant shall furnish complete plans and specifications of the buildings to be <br />erected. Such application shall be referred to the City Planning Commission for invest. <br />igation and report; and the City Council shall, at the time of its referring the matter <br />to the City Planning Commission, cause notice to be given of the intent to establish suc] <br />use as is contained in the application, such notice to be posted on the property and at <br />least one notice to be posted within fifty feet of such property on all frontages; such <br />notice to contain date, hour and place of a hearing to be held by the City Planning <br />Comm~ission and also of hearing to be held by the City Council, this hearing to be not <br />less than five days from the time that such notices have been posted. After receiving <br />the report from the City Planning Commission and after having held a hearing, the City <br />Council may grant or refuse to grant a permit for such special uses. <br /> <br /> In case of refusal the applicants may modify their request in order to remove <br />any or all of the objections raised, but such renewal of application shall follow the <br />same procedure as outlined for the first application. In case of a second refusal, <br />the applicant may not again apply for a period of three months from the time of the <br /> <br />refusal of the application and official action by the City Council." <br /> S~CTION 2. <br /> <br /> The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be published three times in the <br />Santa Ana Daily Evening Register, a daily newspaper printed and published in the City of <br />Santa Aha, California, and thirty days after its final passage the same shall take effect <br /> <br />and be in full force. <br /> <br /> The foregoing ordinance <br />August, 1929. <br /> <br />is signed and approved by me this 19th day of <br /> <br /> F.
