ORDINANCE ~.0. 896 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING <br /> SET-BACK LINES UPON EAST WASHINGTON AVEN~, UPON <br /> BOTH SIDES OF SAID STREET, FROM LINCOLN AVENUE TO <br /> GRAND AVENUE. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Aha do ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the public interest and convenience requires, and there is <br />hereby established set-back lines upon the following street in the City of Santa Ana, <br />California, between which and the respective street lines of said street it shall be <br />unlawful for any person, lien or corporation to erect any building or structure, or to <br />place any structure thereon, to-wit: <br /> <br /> East Washington Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to Grand Avenue, on both sides <br /> <br />of said street, forty (40) feet Northerly and forty (40) feet Southerly from the surveye~ <br />center line of Washington Avenue between the said Lincoln Avenue and Grand Avenue. <br /> <br /> Said set-Back line on the Northerly side of Washington Avenue being ten (10) <br />feet outside of the present Northerly line of said Washington Ave~e and the set-back <br />line on the Southerly side of.said Washington Avenue being the following line, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point in the Easterly line of Lincoln Avenue, said <br /> point being fifteen (15) feet Southerly from the Southerly line of <br /> Washington Avenue; thence Easterly and parallel to the Southerly line <br /> of Washington Avenue seven (7) feet to a point in the Westerly line of <br /> Lot 24 of Dean's Addition as per map thereof on file in Records of <br /> Survey, Book 1, Page 22, Records of Orange County, California; thence <br /> continuing Easterly and parallel to the Southerly line of Washington <br /> Avenue and at a.distance of twenty-two (22) feet Southerly therefrom to <br /> an intersection with the Easterly line of Lot A3 of said Dean's <br /> Addition; thence continuing Easterly and parallel to the Southerly line <br /> of Washington Avenue and at a distance of ten (10) feet Southerly <br /> therefrom to an intersection with the Westerly line of Grand Avenue. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the foregoing set-back lines are established after a Resoluti, <br />of Intention was duly passed and adopted and a hearing held thereon, after notice by <br />publication and posting in the manner prescribed by Ordinance No. 813 of the City of <br />Santa Aha, entitled "An Ordinance Prescribing the Method of Procedure for Establishing <br />Set-back Lines in the City of Santa Ana'~, and the City Council having heard and passed <br />upon all protests or objections filed or made to the establishment of said set-back <br />lines. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Building Inspector of the City of Santa Aha shall refuse <br />to issue any permit for any building, or structure proposed to be erected within the <br />space between the present street lines of the above mentioned street and the set-back <br />lines established by this Ordinance. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That any person, lien or corporation violating any of the pro- <br />visions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty,of a misde~e~or amd upon conviction <br />thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more th~m Five Hundred Dollars ($800.00), or <br />by imprisonment in the County Jail of the County of Orange for a period of not more than <br />six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each such person, firm or corporati, <br />shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense for each day duringany portion of which <br />any violation of this Ordinance shall be pe~n~itted, continued or committed by such <br />person, firm or corporation, and shall be punishable therefor as provided by this <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br /> Section 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this <br />0rdina~ce and cause the ss~ne to be published three times in the Santa Aha Daily Evening <br />Register, a daily newsp~p~rL~printed, published and generally circulated in the City of <br /> <br /> <br />
