Said election shall be held and conducted in accordance <br />with an Act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled "~ Act to <br />Provide for the Hecall of Elective Officers.of Incorporated Cities and Towns" <br />(Statutes Ektra Session 1911, Page 128), and with the General Election Laws of <br />the State of California, so far a~ the same may be applicable thereto. The <br />poll~ shall be opened at six o~clock A.M. on the day of said election, and shall <br />be kept open until seven o'clock P.M. of said day, at which time the polls shall <br />be closed. <br /> <br /> Each of said election officers shall receive a compensation of $8.00 <br />for his or her services. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to pr§pare and <br />cause to be~printed in the manner provid~d~by l~w all supplies required for said <br />election, and a sufficient number of ballots therefor, and to furnish and provide <br />the same for the use of the voters at said election, and said City Clerk shall <br />also cause to be printed such~sam~le ballots as may be required by law, and shall <br />caus$ such sampl$ ballots to be mailed to the electors of said City within the <br />time prescribed by law. <br /> <br /> Section S. That there shall be printed upon the sample ballot which sh~ <br />be mailed as hereinbefore provided for by the City Clerk of said City, in not <br />more than two hundred (200) words, the reasons set forth in the Recall Petition <br />for demanding the recall of the members of the City Council named and designated <br />said Petition, and upon such sample ballot there shall also be printed, in not <br />more tha~ two hundred (200) words, a statement by each of said officers sought to <br />be recalled whereby they justSfy Sheir c~ur~e in office. <br /> <br /> That in addition there shall be printed on the recall ballot, as to <br />each officer whose recall is to be voted on there at, the following question: <br />"Shall J. L. McBride be recalled from the Office of Trustee from the First ~'ard?" <br />'~'Shall Stanley E. Goode b$ recalled from the Office of Trustee from the Second <br />~ard?", "Shall Homer C. chaney be recalled from the Office of Trustee from the <br />Third W~rd?". "Shall ~'. J. Kelly be recalled from~the Office of Trustee from the <br />Fourth ~?ard~W, "Shall F.L.Purinton be recalled from the Office of Trustee from <br />the Ftfth"Jard?"; and following each of said questions there shall be printed the <br />words, "Yes", and "No", on separat, e lines, with a blank space at the right of each <br />in which the voter shall indicate by stamping a c~oss (x) his vote for or agaznst <br />such recall. On such ballots under each such question there shall also be <br />printed the nantes of those persons who have been nominated as candidates to succee <br />the person recalled in case he shall be removed from office by said recall electic <br />and in all other respects such ballot shall be as provided by law. <br /> <br /> Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this <br />Ordinance and shall c.~nsc the s~me to be published th_tee times in the Santa Ana <br />Daily Evening Register, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in the <br />City of Santa Ana, and said 0rdin~nce shall take effect and be in force zmr~ediate2 <br />upon.its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> The foregoing o~dinance is signed and approved by me this 13th day of <br />~anuary, 19~0. <br /> <br /> F.
