RESOLUTION 65-186 ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE OF <br />RATES FOR REFUSE COLLECTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in preparation to establish direct charges for <br />collection and disposal of refuse in the City of Santa Ana, the City <br />Council reduced the tax rate for the fiscal year of 1965-1966 by <br />13% cents on each $100.00 of assessed value of property within the <br />City and the new reduced tax rate went into effect on July 1, 1965; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, thereafter the City Council adopted Ordinance NS-823 <br />provided refuse collection regulations and authorizing the establish- <br />ment of charges for collection and disposal of refuse by resolution. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The rates hereinbelow <br />set out are the rates that shall be due to the City for collection <br />and disposal of refuse and/or for stand-by or the availability of <br />said service. Said rates shall be added to the rate charged for <br />water service and billed with the bill for water service. Any <br />residential, co~unercial, or industrial occupancy not served by <br />Santa Aha water service, and any commercial or industrial occupancy <br />occupying identifiably separate space but not served by a separate <br />water meter, shall be separately billed for stand-by collection and <br />disposal refuse service. All rates for such service shall be due <br />and payable at the Finance Department in the City Hall on the date <br />of billing therefor and become delinquent 15 days after the date of <br />such billing. A penalty of 1~ shall be charged on all unpaid bills <br />for such service 30 days after the billing date. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: The rates to be charged for <br />stand-by collection and disposal refuse service are hereby established <br />in accordance with the schedule next herein set out: <br /> <br />SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR REFUSE COLLECTION AND STAND-BY <br /> <br />1. The basic rate for each single family residence for each two <br /> months, or part thereof, shall be $1.70. <br /> <br />The basic rate for each duplex family residence served by a <br /> single water meter for each two months, or part thereof, <br /> shall be $2.50. <br /> <br />The basic rate for all triplex family residences served by a <br /> single water meter for each two months, or part thereof, <br /> shall be $3.40. <br /> <br />Each residential building containing four or more units served <br /> by a single water meter shall be considered as a co~u~ercial <br /> occupancy for the purposes of establishing the charge for <br /> refuse collection. <br /> <br />Each co~ercial and each industrial occupancy, except those which <br /> are located in the map area as defined in and regulated by <br /> Paragraph No. 6 next hereinbelow set out and any other occupancy <br /> not expressly provided for herein shall pay the basic rate of <br /> $1.70 for each two month period. Any service beyond once a <br /> week pickup with a 200 pound maximum shall be provided only by <br /> agreement with City's contractor and paid for by occupant in <br /> addition to the basic rate. <br /> <br />The rates for each commercial and industrial occupancy, which <br /> shall include each occupancy other than those described in <br /> paragraphs numbered 1, 2, and 3, above, which are located in <br /> the area shown on the map at page 12 of Specifications - <br /> Refuse Collection Service, June 17, 1963, on file in the <br /> office of the Clerk of the Council, as amended by letter from <br /> the Director of Public Works dated February 20, 1964, addressed <br /> to the president of Great Western Reclamation, Inc., which <br /> enlarged the area covered by the agreement with addressee dated <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
