<br />AN ORDINANCE, OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA A~]£NDING
<br />SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE 641 RELATING TO THE KEEP-
<br /> ING OF D~O~.~]oTIC ANI~ALS.

<br />The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana do ordain as follows:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. That Section 4 of Ordinance 641 is hereby amended to read as
<br />
<br /> Section 4. It shall be unlawful for ary person, firm or corporation, to keep
<br /> or maintain turkeys, ducks, geese, chickens, pigeons or other fowls, or rabbits, within
<br /> fifty (50) feet of any family residence or building designed for human occupancy, their
<br /> own included, within that certsin portion of the City of Santa Ana, included within
<br /> those certain zones, known as Business District, Neighborhood Business District, First-
<br /> class Apartment District, and Court and Apartment District, as defined by Ordinance No.
<br /> 809 entitled: An Ordinance to be known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Santa
<br /> Aha, California, prescribing the classes of buildings,structures and improvements and
<br /> uses or additions in the several zones to be created by this ordinance; and providing
<br /> the penalty for the violation of the same.
<br />
<br /> In that portion of the City outside of the certain zones mentioned above, it
<br /> shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to keep or maintain turkeys, duck~
<br /> geese, chickens, pigeons or other fo~ls, or rabbits, within fifty (50) feet of any
<br /> family residence or buiSding designed for human, occupancy, with the exception of their
<br /> own, where the limit of distance shall conform with the State regulations for same.

<br /> SECTION 2. It sh~ll be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to keep
<br /> or maintain more than twenty-five (25) in number of any turkeys, ducks, geese, chickens,i
<br /> pigeons, or other~fowls, or rabbits, within the city limits of Santa Aha, unless a
<br /> special permit shall be issued therefor by the City Council of the City of Santa ~na,
<br /> subject to the rules or regulations provided for herein by the Health Department of the
<br /> City of Santa Ana.
<br />
<br /> That any persoD, fir~ or corporation maintaining more than twenty-five (2S) in
<br />.number of any turkeys, ducks, geese, chickens, pigeons, or other fowls, or rabbits,
<br />
<br /> shall be considered as conducting, ma%ntainlng and carrying on a co~mmercisl poultry
<br /> yard, and shall be subject to the following rules and rogulations of the Health Depart-
<br /> ment of the City of ~anta Ana appertaining thereto:

<br /> REGULATIONS
<br />
<br /> (a) Ail buildings, Gens, r~ms or other places where such rabbits, chickens,
<br /> turkeys, ducks, geese, pigeons or other fowls are k~pt, shall be located at least fifty
<br /> (50) feet from ~ny residence, their o~v~ e~cepted.
<br />
<br /> (b) The floors of every such building shall be sr~ooth and tight, an~ ms,n-
<br /> rained so as to prevent ace~mulation of filth or w~ter or harborin? of ro~ents thereunde
<br />
<br /> (c) The floo~ sres of every such building v~here the fowls are given free
<br /> runs shall be of sufficient area'so as to a 11o~ for two and one-h~lf (2 1/2) square
<br /> feet per
<br />
<br /> (d) Ail deed fowls, manure, refuse, feathers, etc. shall be removed within
<br />
<br /> a reasonable time, or kept in fly-tight containers until such removal.
<br />
<br /> (e) If runs are orovided and the formation of ground therefor capnot be
<br />
<br /> kept in a clean and sanitary condition st all times as required by the Health Departmen!
