<br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA~ FIXING THE RATE OF LICENSE THEREFOR
<br /> AND PROVIDING FOR COLLECTION THEREOF" BY ADDING A N~V
<br /> SECTION THERETO TO ~E NUNBERED SECTION 100.

<br /> The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha ordains as follows:
<br />
<br /> Section l: That Ordinance No. 688, passed the 50th day of November, 1920, and
<br /> amendments thereto and entitled,
<br />
<br /> "An Ordinance Providing for the Licensing of Business, Shows,.
<br /> Exhibitions and Games Conducted or Carried on in the City of Santa Aha,
<br /> Fixing the Rate of License Therefor and Providing for Collection Thereof."
<br />
<br /> be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section, to be numbered 100,
<br /> and to read as follows:
<br />
<br /> "SECTION I00, WHOLESATR BEVERAGE DEAT.W~. For every person, firm
<br />
<br /> or corporat%on, managing or carrying on the business of a wholesale beverage
<br /> dealer, $80.00 per year, payable semi-annually, in advance.
<br />
<br /> For the purpose of this ordinance, a twholesale bowes-ag% dealer'
<br /> is defined to be a~ ~nclude every person who sells, or offers for sale,
<br /> to another person for the purpose of resale, any beverage as the same is
<br /> defined in Section l, Chapter 178 of the Statutes of 1953 of the State of
<br /> Callfornia~."

<br /> Section 2: The immediate passage of this ordinance is hereby declared to be
<br />neceesary~as an emergency measure for the immediate preservation of the public peace,
<br />health, and safety, and the facts constituting said emergency are as follows, to-wit:
<br />That the Congress of the United States has enacted legislation permitting the sale and
<br />possession of the beverages referred to herein, 'and that the Legislature of the State
<br />of California has enacted an urgency measure prescribing certain regulations for the
<br />manufacture, distribution and sale of said beverages, providing for the licensing of
<br />said manufacture, distribution and sale thereof, designating the City Council or such
<br />other officers as may now or he~eafte~ be designated by the charter or ordinance to be
<br />the licensing board, and delegating to the City Council the authority to provide the
<br />amount, method and period of time of license fees by ordinance, and it is therefore
<br />determined by the Council that this ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon its
<br />passage. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this o~dinance, and shall caus~
<br />the same to be published once in the "Santa Aha Daily Evening Register", the official
<br />newspaper of said City.

<br />July, 1933.
